    If you love Oak honey then you will appreciate this very fine batch - which comes from one of the most beautiful places in Greece. This superb honey was selected as the best out of a series of Oak samples provided to us by different beekeepers.  

    You will find that this Raw Artisan Organic Oak honey is is a rich-tasting honeydew honey. This honey starts off quite quickly, with strong malt and caramel flavours. The high points of maple syrup combine with the richness of molasses to create a balanced overall flavour, which lingers pleasantly. The aftertaste reminds us of dried apricots and sultanas, and a light sourness can be detected for a good time after.

    A rich, thick and delicious honey, high in antibacterial properties - making it perfect for when you have a sore throat or a persistent cough. 

    This honey works well in glazes, in warm drinks, with breakfast - spread on toast or drizzled over porridge or yoghurt and when baking.   

    Colour: This particular oak honey is dark brown, almost black in colour, showing a lovely amber in the light. 

    Where does the honey come from? This honey comes from Mount Pelion, considered one of the most beautiful mountains in Greece. The locals describe it as an area of indescribable beauty, a place which is thickly forested. Higher up the mountain you will find oak,  chestnut,  beech and maple. Lower down there are olive, pear, willow and apple trees. Also, you will see healing herbs such as sage, thyme and the renowned Greek mountain tea growing in abundance on the mountain. This mountain is an area of true wilderness, far from any source of pollution. 

    The mountain has mythological roots, being named after king Peleus, who was father to the great warrior Achilles.

    Description Asterios raw organic arbutus honey is an incredibly deep tasting type. It is quite bitter, like roasted coffee beans and bitter dark chocolate. It has a beautiful after taste, but many are put off by its medicinal main flavour. This is a connoisseur variety for those with a love of unique and potent honey.  It is one of the most overt tasting varieties we have experienced! Colour: This particular honey is a very dark brown when runny with a shade of purple and a hint of deep red in the light. Where does the honey come from? This variety of Arbutus honey comes from the northern mountain ranges of Madrid in Spain known as Sierra De Guadarrama. Who produces this honey? The bees of Antonio Simone, a 4th generation beekeeper who takes pride in producing honey in a traditional way without adding or taking away anything. Antonio's hives are based in the mountain ranges north of Madrid, his beekeeping practices and the land he has his hives on have been certified as organic by the Committee of Organic Agriculture in Madrid. What about the plant the honey comes from? The Arbutus unedo bush is an evergreen, also known as modrono in Spanish and is nicknamed 'strawberry tree' due to its fruit that look a little like strawberry. However, these berries are not overly sweet, leaning more to acidic, but they are apparently very refreshing. The fruit of this bush is used in traditional Chinese medicine. Common uses: Arbutus honey is known as a gourmet honey by connoisseurs and those with adventurous tastes, so it really adds a unique flavour to dishes. It comes from Carob trees on the Island of Crete.     Description This Raw Greek Oak and Chestnut Honeycomb is perfect for those who love dark, strong honeys. Honeycomb is the best way to eat honey because honeycomb is the honey exactly as it was in the hive. It contains all the good nutritious bits - such as bee bread (fermented pollen mixed with honey and enzymes), royal jelly and propolis in the cells. More on the flavour: This is a beautiful combination of the flavours of Oak and Chestnut honey. It starts with a dark, black tea tannin-like foretaste, easing into a very sweet and delicious main taste. It has a certain bitterness along with caramel notes coming in around an essence of deep, black raisins and prunes, leaving a slightly ferrous tingle on the tongue. The location is near the village of Byronia, Serres, a small village at the foot of Mount Kerkini, close by a lake and above the river Strymon. It is within the Kerkini National Park that includes Lake Kerkini and the river Strymon, and runs from the lake to the Greek-Bulgarian border.     Third bottle of this I’ve had, the best colostrum out there. It tastes so delicious out of the capsule, even one pill somehow manages to improve digestion, give my skin a bit of a glow and give me a mood boost! I don’t know what it’s doing to have that effect on my mood, lowering inflammation in the gut or immune enhancing I don’t know, but it’s also stimulating and hard to sleep for me if I take too much, so I have to go slow.     I will have to check again next month to make sure it is this medicine that helped me and shocked me. My TSH on October 16 was just over 100. On that day I started with 6 capsules a day, I got tested today, and my TSH is 12, that is a massive drop within 2 months. I took adrenal with this at 4 caps a day. I never noticed anything physically, like less brain fog, more energy....although my toilet is much better. I will report back in another 2 months, I should have normal TSh range. :) Along with taking this medicine, I have done Ujjai pranayam, a special way of breathing for 10 mins a day, and general exercise and I drank a teaspoon of coriander in warm water every other day.
