Baicalin is currently being used to support neurological and cognitive functions, among other uses. Baicalin appears to involve intestinal microflora for its metabolism into baicalein, the most active metabolite of baicalin. Baicalin is calming. Baicalin in the blood can cross the blood brain barrier, although it does not appear to be at the same concentration in the brain and the blood. Baicalin activates AMPK, an enzyme that plays a role in cellular energy homeostasis. Buddha's Yang This formulation is for those who desire to build Yang Jing energy. It is completely vegetarian. Many of the most powerful Yang Jing tonics are derived from animal sources.
