Vitamins K2 and D3 regulates ‘calcium metabolism’ - a process that supports the movement of calcium into your gut and out of your gut. Both vitamins are necessary to prevent your soft tissue from calcifying, and help deliver calcium to the all right places in your body. Most people are deficient in vitamins K2 and D3. K2 and D3 are not easily bioavailable in the foods we eat. That’s why it’s important that you supplement the two vitamins for optimal health.
Regulate Calcium Metabolism

Calcium is the most abundant mineral in your body99% of calcium occurs in bones and teeth. The remaining 1% found in the blood and soft tissues. Calcium is what helped your bones grow during your childhood. Adequate intake of calcium combats the decline of bone mass, supports bone recovery, and prevents fractures.Research shows that a 10% increase in bone mass at the end of adolescence can lead to a 50% decrease in the risk of fractures later in life. This alone shows the importance of getting enough calcium intake throughout all stages of life - especially among post-menopausal women, children and older adults.K2 promotes heart healthCalcium is required to build and maintain healthy bones. But did you know that excess calcium can get deposited in your arteries, leading to arterial stiffening and potential heart disease? Vitamin K2 activates the matrix Gla protein (MGP), which binds excess calcium to bones and prevents it from depositing into your arteries.D3 is a powerful immune-boosterVitamin D3 plays an important role in your immune function. For an efficient defense against invading pathogens, your immune cells, specifically T cells, require high levels of vitamin D3. If there isn’t a sufficient supply of D3 in your body, you’re more susceptible to illness and disease.K2 and D3 go hand-in-handVitamin D3, sometimes known as the “sunshine vitamin” is naturally synthesized when our skin is exposed to sunlight. It plays a vital role in calcium absorption in the intestine. Almost 99% of your vitamin D supply is used to regulate calcium, with the remaining supply used to strengthen the immune system and help maintain muscle strength.Without sufficient levels of vitamin K2, it is difficult for calcium to be deposited into our bones. When not deposited in our bones, excess calcium can be deposited in the cardiovascular system, where it can have harmful effects. Vitamin K2 prevents this from happening.Calcium is a powerful bone builderCombining vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 promotes healthy calcium metabolism and therefore healthy bone and teeth mineralization, muscle strength and recovery, cardiovascular health and immune system function.Supplement FactsServing Size: 0.5 mL (17 drops)Servings Per Container 30

FAQs
How should I take K2D3?The typical Western diet does not contain a sufficient amount of vitamin K2, and as such, supplementation is beneficial to everyone. Simply squeeze 17 drops directly on the tongue, or into a glass of water or juice and mix well. What is the recommended dosage for K2D3?Taking 0.5mL (17 drops) is the optimal dosage. We recommend monitoring the body’s response in the first days of taking K2D3 and reducing the dosage, as needed. What is the vitamin K2 as MK-7?Vitamin K activates proteins that play a role in blood clotting, calcium metabolism and heart health. One of its most important functions is to regulate calcium deposition. Vitamin K2 as MK-7 activates the greatest proportion of osteocalcin. Once activated, osteocalcin binds calcium in the bloodstream for transport into the bone matrix, and it also activates the Gla protein which helps to ensure calcium is transported to bones and not areas where it can be harmful. What is the vitamin D3?Vitamin D3 - sometimes called the “sunshine vitamin” - plays an important role in your immune health and the absorption of calcium. If you live in an area with little to no sunlight, it’s important that you supplement vitamin D3.

What is Vitamin D3?Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin that our body requires in order to absorb calcium in the gut, as well as regulating calcium and phosphorus for bone mineralization [1].Vitamin D is also incredibly important in the regulation of mood, prevention of cardiovascular problems and improving heart health, lowering pro-inflammatory and increasing anti-inflammatory components of the immune system, supporting weight loss, supporting bone health and more. There are two main types of vitamin D - D2 and D3. D2 can be found naturally in some plants, whereas D3 is naturally formed in animals when their skin is exposed to sunlight. The difference being that D3 is roughly 87% more potent at increasing blood vitamin D levels and maintaining concentrations. D3 also provides 2-3 times more storage of vitamin D in the body’s cells than D2.For example, a study on older women found that a single dose of vitamin D3 was almost twice more effective than vitamin D2 at increasing calcifediol levels [2].Vitamin D3 is indeed synthesized in your skin too when directly exposed to the sun's UV rays [3], specifically the ultraviolet B rays that are responsible for sunburn. When the UVB rays interact with a protein in your skin called 7-DHC (7-Dehydrocholesterol), it is converted into the active form of vitamin D (D3) that is then absorbed into your body [4].While the sun is an extremely important source, most people do not get enough sun on their bare skin throughout the year, so you should also acquire vitamin D3 from foods, such as fatty fish (such as mackerel, sardines, salmon and tuna), cod liver oil, egg yolks, but this is also often difficult, which is why many people prefer to supplement Vitamin D3 [5].What causes Vitamin D deficiency?A variety of factors can lead to vitamin D deficiency - the main being simply not getting enough sunlight. Here are some of the reasons you may not be getting enough vitamin D:
Not exposing enough of your body for long enough (15 minutes in the sun wearing nothing but underwear will provide enough vitamin D for the day)
Sitting in the shade - it’s important to understand that your exposed skin needs to be in direct sunlight
Using sunscreen which blocks the UVB rays needed to synthesize vitamin D
Living in areas where the sun is blocked, like cities with tall buildings
Living in countries where there isn’t much sun, or working night shifts so you don’t see much sun
Winter in most countries (when the sun isn’t as strong/doesn’t appear often)
Having darker skin (the darker your skin, the less able you are to absorb vitamin D due to the higher melanin content)
If you’re deficient in vitamin D, a variety of problems can occur such as:
Rickets (children) or Osteomalacia (adults) - distortion and softening of the bones [6]
Low mood [7]
Increased risk of cardiovascular problems [8]
Increase risk of bone fractures and breaks from falls [9]
Tiredness, pains and aches
Can you test your levels of Vitamin D?If you suspect you have low vitamin D levels, or simply want to find out what your levels are - your doctor can perform a simple blood test. You can also order this test for yourself privately in most locations, we recommend this as it’s very important to have the optimals levels of Vitamin D3, not too little, not too much.If you are found to be deficient, your doctor may also want to perform x-rays to check the strength of your bones. What is Vitamin K2?Vitamin K is another fat soluble vitamin that is essential for the metabolism of calcium, blood clotting, heart health, bone health and many other functions in our bodies [10].The two types of vitamin K are K1 and K2. K1 is a plant form and can be found in some green vegetables, whereas K2 can be found in fermented and animal foods. Vitamin K2’s long side chain allows it to remain in the blood and circulate for longer, making K2 the best form of vitamin K. Where K1 might stay in the blood for several hours, K2 can remain in circulation for days [11].It’s vital that you take vitamin K2 when taking larger doses of vitamin D, but more on this later. Why you should always take Vitamin K2 alongside D3…It’s absolutely essential to take vitamin K2 alongside vitamin D3 for a couple of reasons. The main reason is that it's much safer to take higher doses of D3 with K2, because too much D3 by itself will pull calcium out of your bones, leading to lower bone density. Excessive vitamin D3, without K2, may also lead to calcium being deposited in your arteries, causing hardening of the arteries (vascular calcification).Vitamin K2 works to put calcium back into your bones [12], as well as helping to keep your arteries clear. A balanced formula with both allows you to reap the anti-inflammatory, immune supporting and other benefits of vitamin D3, while minimizing bone calcium loss and the potential for cardiovascular problems. Why Try Feel Younger® Vitamin D3 5000iu + Vitamin K2 1000iu MK7?Our vitamin D3 5000iu + vitamin K2 1000iu MK7 capsules are antibiotic free, gluten free, sugar free, hormone free, lactose free and contain no nasty binders. We use a type of K2 called MK-7 which is a step up from the normal K2 you’ll find in many other K2 supplements. MK-7 has higher efficacy due to its higher bioavailability and longer half-life than other versions of vitamin K2 [13].We’ve also included Bioperine (a patented black pepper extract) in our vitamin D3 with K2 formula because of its ability to increase nutrient absorption [14].Bioperine in itself also possess potential health benefits, such as boosting brain function by decreasing inflammation [15], improving memory and protecting the myelin sheath [16], anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects on UV (ultraviolet) induced skin damage [17] and preventing high blood sugar levels [18].This means when you take our vitamin D3 with K2 capsules, you know that you’re getting the highest quality, best forms of vitamin D and vitamin K that are the most bioavailable (available for your body to use) and last the longest in your body (longer half-life) and are going to be absorbed exponentially better than other D3 with K2 products due to our Bioperine content. How do you take it?Take one capsule a day, preferably with some kind of dietary fat to help better absorb the vitamins.Any cautions?Although vitamin D is tolerable in high doses, (10,000 iu & upwards) it’s important to bear your sun time in mind.If you’ve spent hours in strong sunshine, supplementation may not be beneficial (in rare cases, excessive vitamin D can cause nausea, vomiting, dehydration, confusion and abdominal pain).Vitamin K is generally considered to be well tolerated and safe but in rare cases, people may experience minor digestive effects.

KD Ultra 90caps (Arthur Andrew Medical)
£48.00
KD Ultra combines vegan-sourced Vitamin D3, a full-spectrum blend of Vitamin K, and the enzyme lipase to support strong bones, cardiovascular health and immune function.
Vitamins K and D have a synergistic relationship that promotes strong bones and cardiovascular health. If you don’t include both in your supplement routine, you could be missing out! According to a research study, health professionals increased testing for Vitamin D sevenfold between 2008 and 2013, and it’s thought that over 1 billion people are deficient in this vital nutrient. In addition, adequate vitamin K is actually necessary to get the health benefits we’ve all come to know about vitamin D.
That’s why we formulated KD Ultra to include everything you need for broad-spectrum benefits in a single supplement.
KD Ultra combines 2500 IUs of vegan Vitamin D3 with a fullspectrum blend of the available Vitamin K2 chains (referred to as menaquinones) MK4, MK6, MK7 and MK 9 (MKs) as well as Vitamin K1 for the ultimate health benefits of each component.
However, because Vitamins D and K are fat-soluble (meaning they dissolve in fat), we added the enzyme [lipase] to break down ingested fats, allowing your body to properly release the vitamins from fat and absorb them efficiently. That means no more missing out on all the perks of taking your vitamins!
BONE AND JOINT
Everyone knows the importance of calcium for healthy bones, but how important are Vitamins K and D?
There are many factors that can impact the bone health of millions of American adults, which can lead to fragile bones and high fracture risk. Vitamin K2 plays an essential role in overall bone health through its involvement in the production of bone proteins. One such protein is osteocalcin (OC), a Vitamin K-dependent protein (VKPD) produced during bone formation by specialized bone cells called osteoblasts. VKDPs are involved in blood coagulation, bone metabolism, and prevention of blood vessel hardening. OC depends on Vitamin K for a vital chemical modification called carboxylation. Low Vitamin K intake results in inadequate levels of carboxylated OC, which is linked to decreased bone health and density.
Vitamin D is essential for strong bones as well because it helps the body use calcium from diet and supplementation appropriately. Low levels of Vitamin D have been associated with soft and brittle bones and are likely due to the fact that without D, the body can only absorb between 10-15% of its dietary calcium. Adequate levels of Vitamin D help the body with calcium absorption, bone health, and immune function.
HEART HEALTH
The Importance of Vitamin K2 in Cardiovascular Health
Vitamin K2s various menaquinones (MKs) may also play an essential role in cardiovascular health. The buildup of calcium in blood vessel walls, known as calcification, reduces their flexibility and increases the risk of cardiovascular complications. Matrix Gla-protein (MGP), a critical VitaminK-dependent protein, helps prevent calcium buildup in blood vessels. However, MGP relies on Vitamin K to function properly. Thus, adequate Vitamin K intake is essential for supporting MGP function and its resulting impact on vascular and cardiovascular health. A high intake of Vitamin K is associated with reduced blood vessel calcification and a reduced risk of cardiovascular issues. Accordingly, a high intake of MKs, particularly MK7 and MK9, is thought to protect the heart. MK7 is also specifically associated with decreased blood vessel stiffness.
Studies have suggested other potential roles of MKs, as Vitamin K is a crucial component in proper blood clotting. Without enough Vitamin K, excessive bleeding can occur, particularly during injury or surgery. Anticoagulants such as warfarin block the activity of Vitamin K, so individuals taking these medications need to maintain consistent Vitamin K intake through diet or supplement use. Current research suggests that long-chain MKs such as MK7 have a more significant impact on normal blood coagulation than K1 or MK4, while MK4 is thought to be superior for bone health. Therefore, a full-spectrum Vitamin K product is important, as not all Vitamin K is created equally.
IMMUNE
Essential Vitamins for Effective Immune System Support
Vitamin D is often overlooked when it comes to its effects on the immune system. This is largely due to the fact that most people think they have adequate levels under the assumption that they are getting it through sunlight. Although Vitamin D can be obtained naturally through sun exposure, several factors make it challenging to get enough of this vital nutrient from the sun alone. Season, time of day, day length, cloud cover, smog, shade, sunblock, and geographic region all impact UVB exposure and the potential for Vitamin D production. Age and skin color also impact Vitamin D production; dark-skinned individuals produce less Vitamin D than their light-skinned counterparts. Additionally, the skin of older adults does not produce as much Vitamin D when exposed to sunlight as skin in younger people. Due to these numerous issues, over 40% of people are thought to be deficient in Vitamin D.
Cod liver oil, a rich source of Vitamin D, has been widely utilized for centuries to increase protection from infections. It is also thought to be the reason why Scandinavian countries have a very low incidence of Vitamin D deficiency despite the fact that they are located in very high latitudes where the sun is less able to provide the proper UVB rays for natural Vitamin D production. Studies have demonstrated that those with healthy Vitamin D levels had a lesser instance of respiratory infections than those with sufficient levels, even after adjusting for variables such as gender, age, season and race.
Vitamin D is not very prevalent in foods outside of seafood and dairy products (and dairy products are fortified with D2 (more on that below), so the vitamin D is not even naturally occurring), and until recently was not available from a plant source. KD Ultra offers a broad-spectrum Vitamin K2 blend as well as 2,500 IUs of vegan-friendly sourced D3 per capsule.
INGREDIENTS
Vitamin D3
Our formula includes vegan vitamin D3 (the natural form produced by the skin upon exposure to sunlight) from reindeer lichen. Vitamin D regulates calcium and phosphorous levels to form and maintain strong bones. It also plays a role in calcium absorption, bone health, immunity, muscular function and inflammation.
What is the difference between vitamin D2 and vitamin D3?
These two forms of Vitamin D were thought to be equivalent, however, that is far from the truth. Vitamin D2, or ergocalciferol, is inexpensive to produce and almost always what is found in forti-fied foods. It is actually less potent and has a shorter duration of action than its Vitamin D3 counterpart known as cholecalciferol.
What are lichens you ask?
Lichens are naturally occurring organisms found throughout the world and can best be described as a fungi-algae sandwich, two different organisms that live together as one. The fungi actually protect the algae which allows lichens to grow in some of the most extreme environments the world can offer.
A majority of supplemental Vitamin D3 is chemically stripped from lanolin, a yellow waxy oil found in sheep’s wool and then irradiated to produce D3. KD Ultra uses a naturally derived D3 from lichen, a much cleaner and natural form of this vital nutrient.
Vitamin K
Vitamin K comes in many forms and is essential for proper Vitamin D utilization. Our formula includes Vitamin K1 as well as all available supplemental forms of Vitamin K2 (MK4, MK6, MK7 and MK9) for full-spectrum health benefits. Vitamin K supports proper blood clotting, strong bones and reduced blood vessel calcification for improved cardiovascular health.
Lipase
Lipase is an enzyme that breaks down lipids (fats) and fat-soluble vitamins. Without enough lipase, fats cannot be fully broken down and properly absorbed by the body. This may limit the benefits you expect to get from taking your vitamins. Lipase is essential for complete vitamin assimilation, which is why we have included it in our proprietary formula.

FAQS
How do vitamins K and D work together to provide health benefits?
Vitamin D has been found to support bone heath and a well-functioning cardiovascular system. But to get the greatest results from taking Vitamin D, you also need Vitamin K.
Vitamin D promotes the production of Vitamin K-dependent proteins (VKDPs), which serve essential roles in bone growth and the vascular system. Vitamin K is necessary for carboxylation, a chemical alteration, of two specific VKDPs: osteocalcin and matrix Gla protein (MGP).
According to the International Journal of Endocrinology, carboxylation of MGP helps to mitigate calcium buildup in blood vessels, supporting a healthy cardiovascular system. Osteocalcin carboxylation supports bone density, a key factor in minimizing the likelihood of future bone issues.
Studies have also shown that taking Vitamins D and K together results in lower levels of uncarboxylated osteocalcin and increased bone density. This demonstrates that the Vitamin D-K duo are more effective in supporting bone health than supplementing with Vitamin K alone.
To ensure bioavailability of both Vitamins D and K, your body needs enough of the enzyme lipase to properly assimilate these fat-soluble vitamins. Thankfully, KD Ultra contains it all!
What are the different forms of vitamin K2 in KD Ultra?
Vitamin K2 refers to a group of compounds known scientifically as menaquinones (MKs). Several different forms of Vitamin K2 exist, ranging from MK4 to MK13, and each provides unique health benefits. Think of these similar to the different variations of B vitamins, where each vitamin has a different function within the body and the complete complex is important for optimal health.
The number following the MK refers to the length of the “chain” in its chemical composition (e.g. MK4 is a 4-chain K2). MK4 is most commonly found in the Western diet while high levels of MK7 are found in the Japanese food natto.
KD Ultra includes all four of the currently available supplemental forms of Vitamin K2: MK4, MK6, MK7 and MK9.
As if K2 needed to be further complicated, two variations of MK7 (isomers) exist and are known as Trans and Cis. The isomer is basically just the shape of the molecule and impacts the absorbability within the body (among other things). Trans MK7 is what is found in foods and nature, while Cis is not found in nature and may not offer any of the benefits of Trans MK7. KD Ultra contains all-Trans MK7.
Why do I need to take Vitamin D, don’t I get it from the sun?
Although Vitamin D can be obtained naturally through sunlight exposure, several factors make it challenging to get enough from the sun alone. Season, time of day, day length, cloud cover, smog, shade, and geographic region all impact UVB exposure and the potential for Vitamin D production. Age and skin color also impact Vitamin D production. The skin of older adults does not produce as much Vitamin D when exposed to sunlight as skin in younger people. Also, the kidneys are less capable of converting Vitamin D into its active form as people age. Individuals with dark skin have a lower ability to produce Vitamin D from the sun due to higher melanin levels in the skin, which blocks UVB absorption. In addition, due to the risk of skin cancer, daily sunscreen use and protective clothing are recommended by dermatologists, both of which block UVB exposure and limit Vitamin D production.
Does KD Ultra support dental health?
It has been shown that Vitamin K2 plays a key role in the development and maintenance of healthy tooth enamel and the immune response within dentin. Without K2, calcium cannot be adequately processed in our bodies, and that includes both bones and teeth. Additionally, Vitamin D3 aids in the absorption of calcium throughout the body.
Is KD Ultra safe to use in combination with prescription blood-thinning medications?
You should always check with your healthcare provider prior to taking any new dietary supplements in combination with a prescription. However, KD Ultra contains Vitamin K, and since many prescription medications for blood-thinning are designed to block Vitamin K activity, it is imperative you speak with the prescribing physician prior to taking KD Ultra if you are prescribed these types of medications.
Is KD Ultra Kosher?
The formula is Kosher, and a copy of the certification is available by request .
Is KD Ultra vegan friendly?
The formula is vegetarian and vegan in accordance with the guidelines of the AMERICAN VEGETAR-IAN ASSOCIATION.

Arthur Andrew Medical
KD Ultra 30caps (Arthur Andrew Medical)
£18.00
