Would you like to… Return Hormonal Balance to Your Body Support Your Body In Estrogen Detoxification (Lowering Estrogen Levels) Reduce Gynecomastia Combat Erectile Dysfunction Boost Your Fertility Improve Your Mood If so, you may want to give our Natural PCT Formula for Hormonal Support a try!Along with the benefits listed above, you may also experience a whole host of other benefits, such as: Lower Blood Pressure Cholesterol Level Support Improved Brain Health Blood Sugar Regulation Better Bone & Joint Health Anti-inflammatory Support Antioxidant Support Lower Stress Levels Protection for Your Prostate Liver Protection Why is it important to Support Your Hormone Levels?Generally speaking, testosterone is known as the “masculine hormone”, and estrogen (or estradiol) is known as the “feminine hormone”.While estrogen is necessary for the male body to function properly, excess levels can cause a whole host of problems, such as: Enlarged breast tissue (gynecomastia) Infertility Erectile dysfunction Low mood If a man has excessive estrogen levels along with low testosterone levels then these symptoms can be enhanced, as well as a variety of different problems developing, such as: Low sex drive Loss of muscle mass Fatigue Obesity Loss of body or facial hair   Excessive estrogen can also be an issue for women in certain situations. What can cause excess levels of Estrogen? There are many factors that can lead to excess levels of estrogen, including: Certain antibiotics, medications and other pharmaceuticals Hypogonadism (and other problems that can lead to hormone imbalances) Excess weight/obesity Liver problems Stres Poor diet, and particularly eating: soy, fruit and veg sprayed with pesticides, plastic containers, styrofoam and water bottles Aging Fabric softeners, detergents, most shampoos and lotions Inhaling xenoestrogens from gasses of chemicals from many things, such as: paint, fuel, lubricants, packing materials, plant fertilizers, carpets, printers & copiers, air fresheners and more.   Can you test the levels of estrogen in your body? There are a few different ways that you can test the levels of estrogen in your body: A blood test that needs to be done at your physician's office A 24 hour urine test - your physician will give you a container to collect all of the urine you pass within a 24 hour period. A saliva test - this can be done at home. Contact your physician for the next steps. The Top 10 Ways to lower the estrogen levels in your body:Whether you have a little extra estrogen, or excessive levels of estrogen - or simply just suspect it… here’s the top 10 ways you can reduce estrogen in your body: Eat an Organic, clean and nutrient dense diet. Pesticides are known to be EDCs (endocrine disrupting chemicals interfere with the endocrine system that controls hormone production in your body). EDCs can have an estrogenic, antiestrogenic, androgenic or antiandrogenic effect.   Limiting your exposure to pesticides may help to decrease concentrations of estradiol and the suppression of testosterone production in your body [1].There are concerns over soy (that contain phytoestrogens) raising estrogen levels in men [2], so it’s probably best to avoid soy products. Reduce your stress. Although hormone production is not solely linked to the HPA axis (how your body copes with stress), extreme or prolonged stress can cause an imbalance of hormones, and can either suppress or encourage the production of testosterone and/or estrogen. There are many ways to reduce your stress, such as meditation and breathing exercises. You can also try supplementing with our Serenity Anti-Stress Support, Saffron and 5 HTP products. Lift some weights. Lifting weights has been proven to raise testosterone levels, helping you along the way to balancing your hormones [3]. Lose some weight. Eating a clean, organic and nutrient dense diet (1st point) will help to normalize your weight over time. Being overweight can be linked to increased levels of estrogen [4]. Avoid certain medications. There are many antibiotics, medications and other pharmaceuticals that contain estrogens - ampicillin for example. Taking these medicines will increase your estrogen levels significantly, countering any efforts you’re making to lower them. Limit your exposure to microplastics. To create plastics, EDCs are used as additives in the process. Limiting your exposure to microplastics can help to return hormonal balance to your body [5].Things you should try to avoid are: foods wrapped in plastic, plastic tupperware, plastic bottles, eating out of styrofoam (or any type of plastic) - especially when hot, which causes plastic to literally melt into the food… nasty! Limit your exposure to xenoestrogens. A man made chemical that mimics estrogen - these chemicals disrupt hormonal balance in our bodies.Things to avoid: synthetic fragrances and perfumes, air fresheners, aerosol sprays, scented candles, laundry detergents, fabric softeners, household cleaning products… Hopefully you can see the recurring theme here - anything that smells nice and is synthetically made. Natural fragrances are fine. You’ll also need to steer clear from the smell of new carpets, printer & copier ink, paint, packing materials, artificial lubricants, fuel, plant fertilizers and more. Anything that emits these man made fumes contains xenoestrogens [6].If you absolutely have to use cleaning chemicals, for example, consider using a mask to stop inhalation of the fumes, and leave windows and doors open. Take a test for hypogonadism (especially if you have diabetes). You could be experiencing symptoms of hypogonadism, as opposed to excess levels of estrogen in your body [7]. Arrange a liver test. Cirrhosis of the liver is when scar tissue builds up as a result of liver damage. Estrogen concentration in cirrhotic patients is thought to increase by fourfold [8].    Support your body with the nutrients and minerals it needs to boost testosterone and protect your liver as it removes excess estrogen in your body: Indole-3-carbinol. Found in cruciferous vegetables such as cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli and kale - indole-3-carbinol can help to balance estradiol levels, while aiding estrogen detoxification [9].Chrysin. A flavonoid found in honey and mint - chrysin has been shown to possess aromatase (plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of estrogens) inhibiting qualities [10]. Aromatase converts testosterone into estradiol.Resveratrol. Resveratrol can bind to estrogen receptors which has a balancing effect on estrogen levels [11].Fenugreek. Has been shown to increase testosterone in men, and can help to reduce body fat [12] and therefore, aromatase (higher levels of body fat is associated with increased levels of aromatase).Tongkat Ali. Can block aromatase [13] and has been shown to increase sperm quality in mice by reversing the inhibition of testosterone production caused by estrogen [14].3-4-Divanillyltetrahydrofuran. A compound present in stinging nettle roots (urtica fissa) - 3-4-DVT has been shown to increase the activity of testosterone in cell cultures [15].Milk Thistle. Contains a compound called Silymarin which acts as an antioxidant and can provide protection to the liver. Silymarin has been used to treat a whole host of liver problems [16]. Excess estrogen levels can lead to liver problems [17].N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine. Has hepatic (liver) protective qualities and has been used as an effective drug to treat liver disorders [18]. If you’d like… To Improve Your Chances of Living a Longer, Healthier & more Fulfilling Life Improved Vitality Antioxidant Support Anti-inflammatory Support Improved Immune Function Improved Heart Health Cholesterol Level Support Improved Gut Health Improved Mood Better Blood Sugar Regulation then give our Longevity 10x Mushroom Formula a try! This product can potentially give you some additional benefits, such as: Protection for your kidneys Improved brain health & function Improved lung function and boosted exercise performance Helping to combat fatigue What is Longevity, and why is it so important?Longevity is defined as “long life”, and is sometimes referred to as an individual's life expectancy… so I guess it’s clear why this is important! But when you ask people if they’d like to live longer, many people say they don’t want to live longer, because they just imagine more years spent being old and infirm, diseased, helpless and in pain. That’s not what we're talking about here! We’re talking about adding more Life to your Years, as well as Years to your Life! To put it differently, we want to delay, as long as possible, how long it takes for you to FEEL old. This is our definition of Longevity…Feeling Younger for Longer!Of course, there are a whole host of contributing factors to an individual's duration of life and advanced aging, some of which are out of our control, such as social adversity, and others that are made through the choice of where and how we live. Here are the main contributors that can be detrimental to our longevity: Poor diet (including little organic food intake) Being overweight or obese Poor sleep, and not enough of it Smoking Addiction to drugs Excessive alcohol drinking Stress and anxiety Not exercising regularly Depression Negativity (especially in relation to emotions such as anger and fear) Overworking Living in isolation Air and plastic pollution Ignoring problems with your body (and mind), that could be cured or treated Is there a test for longevity?Although predicting one's life expectancy is near impossible, there are tests you can take to measure your “biological” age [1].One such test measures telomeres, which are protective caps on the ends of chromosomes that are found in your cells [2] - think of telomeres as the plastic cap on the ends of shoelaces… they stop the lace (our DNA) from unraveling and dismantling our genetic information. Our telomeres shorten every time our cells divide, which disrupts the cells ability to function, and eventually the cell dies.Otherwise, there are also many blood tests you can take to help paint a picture of your overall health by measuring the levels of essential vitamins and minerals in your body, showing levels of inflammation that can be linked to problems, and more! Here’s some of the main blood tests you can take: Complete Blood Count (CBC), hs-CRP (C-reactive protein), Lipid Panel, Uric Acid, TSH (Thyroid Hormones), Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP), Vitamin D, Iron, GGT and HbA1c.As well as blood tests, you can also do a blood pressure test and you can have a general health checkups with your physician where they should check for a variety of different problems. Even working out your BMI (Body Mass Index) is somewhat predictive of life expectancy, and all you need for this is a scale and a tape measure to get your weight and heigh. The Top 15 Ways to improve your chances of Living as Long, and Healthily, as possible:As we explained a little further up the page, there are many things that can be detrimental to your longevity. Here’s the top 15 lifestyle changes you can make to help increase your chances of living longer: Eat a clean organic diet. Processed foods have been linked to increased inflammation [3]. This will also combat obesity and being overweight, which can result in a decrease in life expectancy [4].   Maintain a regular, healthy sleeping pattern. For most adults, this is 7-8 hours of deep, uninterrupted sleep every night. Sticking to the same patterns has been linked to increased longevity [5]. Quit smoking. Smoking increases the risk of contracting serious health problems [6]. Seek help to stop taking drugs. Life expectancy of those who are addicted to drugs is significantly lower. Stop drinking excessively. Excessive alcohol consumption is linked to liver damage, amongst other problems [7] Reduce your stress and anxieties. Stress and anxiety negatively impacts the body [8]. There are many ways to lower your stress levels, such as meditation. You can also try supplementing with our Serenity Anti-Stress Support or 5 HTP products. Improve your mood. Psychological disorders, especially depression, have been linked to lowered life expectancy, so it’s best to seek help if you are struggling with your mental health [9].One of the first things you can do is test your vitamin D levels… Vitamin D helps to regulate our mood and is synthesized in your skin when it comes into contact with direct sunlight. So if it’s winter or you live in a country that doesn’t see much sun, vitamin D supplementation as found in our multivitamin product can potentially have dramatic effects on your mood [10]. Stop being so negative. Negativity can lead to emotions such as anger, fear, disgust and so on… all of which cause stress, and lead to health problems in the long term. Again, meditation is a great place to start. Exercise regularly. Around 150 minutes a week or more has been linked to increased life expectancy [11]. Minimize your overtime and your working hours. An analysis on a study that saw employees working long hours and overtime were more susceptible to suffering from a range of health problems such as shorter sleep duration, fatigue, sleeping problems and physical injuries. [12]. Socialize with people who don’t cause you stress or anxiety. Social isolation has been linked to increased risk of inflammation, and is detrimental to our mental health and overall mood [13]. Get out of the city (if you can) or take regular trips to the countryside. Long term exposure to air pollution can enhance the chances of contracting respiratory and cardiovascular diseases [14]. It’s also a great way to de-stress.   Limit your exposure to microplastics and other toxins. While the effects of a lifetime of microplastic buildup in the human body is largely unknown - hundreds of articles report whales washing up dead with hundreds, and sometimes thousands of pieces of plastic in their bodies. With that in mind, limiting your exposure as much as possible can’t harm. This means buying as much fresh produce that isn’t wrapped in plastic as possible, and removing packaging as quickly as possible if it is. The worst to watch out for is plastic water bottles (so buy glass wherever you can), and hot food served in plastic or polystyrene containers causes the microplastics to melt into the food… nasty! Get regularly checked by your physician. Don’t ignore your pains, get on top of it before it becomes a problem. Support your body with mushrooms that can help to increase your overall health, vitality and longevity: Cordyceps - a type of fungi that is known to have around 600 species, most of which grow on the larvae of insects. They’re best known for their potential anti-aging and antioxidant properties, which has made them extremely popular among the elderly in recent years for their ability to boost strength, reduce fatigue and combat free radicals that cause damage to the cells in our bodies [15].Reishi Mushroom - this fungus has been included in eastern medicine for many years, and grows in several humid and hot areas in Asia [16].Reishi mushrooms can help boost the immune system [17], improve fatigue and low mood [18], improve heart health by raising good (HDL) cholesterol levels and decreasing triglycerides [19] and have been shown to decrease blood sugar levels in mice and other animal studies [20].Shiitake Mushroom - a dark brown mushroom that is native to east Asia [21] and has been used in traditional chinese medicine to boost longevity, health and circulation. The Anti-inflammatory properties of shiitake mushrooms has been studied [22], as well as their potential to boost heart health and lower blood pressure [23], boost the immune system [24].Shiitake mushrooms are also thought to possess antiviral and antibacterial properties [25] which is extremely important because of the rise of antibiotic resistance.Lion's Mane - this large white mushroom has been used in eastern medicine for many years [26].Studies have shown lion’s mane to contain hericenones and erinacines - two important compounds that can help to invigorate brain cell growth [27].Studies on mice have shown that lion’s mane extract possesses anti-inflammatory properties, and reduces depression and anxiety [28].Lion’s mane is also thought to be able to protect the stomach lining from damage and inhibit the growth of H. pylori in the stomach and intestines which is one of the major factors in the development of stomach ulcers [29].Additionally, Lion’s mane can increase heart health by helping to lower cholesterol levels, and reducing risk factors associated with heart problems [30].Maitake Mushroom - lowered cholesterol levels in mice [31] and had a positive effect on rats with type 2 diabetes [32].Turkey Tail - another mushroom that is packed with powerful antioxidants [33], can boost the immune system due to its polysaccharopeptides content [34] and can increase gut health [35].We understand that it’s not always easy, nor practical to implement a variety of lifestyle changes - especially all at once. We’d advise that you make as many of those changes as possible, but do so 1 or 2 at a time, make sure they stick and then move onto more.In the meantime, you can support your body with mushrooms that can potentially boost your longevity and vitality, allowing you to live a longer, healthier and more fulfilled life. That’s why we’ve included the mushrooms listed above in our Longevity Formula, along with a few others such as Royal Sun Agaricus, White Button Mushroom and Black Fungus to give you an effective dose of 10 powerful mushrooms.By combining these mushrooms together into an easy to swallow capsule, we’ve taken the stress out of buying each of these ingredients separately, researching and experimenting how much of each you should take and then incorporating them into your diet/supplement regime. Here at Feel younger, we believe in providing strong doses at reasonable prices. Our Longevity 10x Mushroom Formula capsules provide a 1330 mg daily dose, and will cost you no more than $35, with discounts available on multiple bottle and subscription purchasesHow do you take Feel Younger® Longevity 10x Mushroom Formula?Take two capsules once a day.For optimal results take 20-30 minutes before a meal with a glass of water.Any Cautions? If you are allergic or sensitive to mushrooms, you SHOULD NOT use this product.Although rare, possible side effects could be upset stomach and sensitivity to sunlight. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a blood disorder, are due to go into surgery or experience low blood pressure you should check with your physician first due to the maitake mushroom content which can lower blood pressure.ALWAYS consult a healthcare professional before taking any new supplements. It’s responsible for: producing bile, which helps to break down fat. Helping to remove bilirubin (a substance in bile) Storing energy for future use (glucose is stored as glycogen in the liver) Plays a crucial role in filtering toxic waste out of your blood, including external toxins and metabolic waste products. But this only scratches the surface of what the liver does, it’s actually the most multifaceted organ in your body performing 1000s of tasks every second of the day! When your liver is not functioning optimally, it can create a variety of different problems, such as : Jaundice (yellowing of the skin & eyes) Nausea & vomiting Itchy skin Bruising easily Bloody, black or pale stool Decreased appetite Weakness & fatigue Swollen legs & abdomen A variety of Autoimmune problems can occur More mild symptoms of the Liver being Suboptimal that a naturopathic doctor would commonly look out for include low tolerance to fatty foods, pain around the right shoulder blade, constipation, gut dysbiosis, headaches, allergies + intolerances and joint pain. What Damages the Health of Your Liver and Gallbladder? The most commonly known condition is called fatty liver disease, which is mainly linked with excessive alcohol consumption. However, it is possible to develop non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. There are many factors that can contribute to poor liver health: Poor diet - eating too much, too often, and too processed foods all stress the liver Excessive alcohol consumption Being overweight or obese Not exercising enough Smoking Excessive use of medicines, such as ibuprofen & paracetamol Excessive exposure to environmental toxins like Mold, Heavy Metals and Pesticides Hepatitis infection through unprotected sex, exposing yourself to other peoples blood and sharing needles to take drugs Inhalation, consumption or absorption (through skin) of toxic products, such as cleaning sprays, air fresheners, aerosols (including deodorant) and other chemicals Stress, depression & anxiety How Do You Test the Health of Your Liver?Liver function tests, or liver chemistries, measure the levels of bilirubin, liver enzymes and proteins in your blood.Different variations of liver chemistries are: Bilirubin test, Albumin test, ALT test (alanine transaminase), AST test (aspartate aminotransferase), and ALP test (alkaline phosphatase). If your levels are too high, or too low in any of these tests then it could indicate there is some damage to the health of your liver. However, these tests are not very sensitive to minor reductions to your liver’s optimal functioning. Most naturopathic doctors agree that periodically supporting your liver with some kind of herbal combination is a good idea, even for those with otherwise excellent health, even if only as a preventative measure. The Top 10 Ways to Improve the Health of Your Liver and Gallbladder:Here’s the top 10 lifestyle changes you can make to support the health of your liver: Eat a nutrient dense, organic diet. A poor diet can cause fat to build up in the liver (fatty liver disease) which can inhibit the liver's ability to play it’s part in metabolism. This can also lead to scarring or hardening of the liver [1] Foods containing Choline are important to prevent this, like egg yolks, liver and nuts and seeds. (see below for recommendations if you don’t regularly enjoy these foods.)   Don’t consume alcohol excessively. As with poor diet, excessive consumption of alcohol can lead to fat building up in the liver (alcoholic fatty liver disease) [2] Maintain a healthy weight. If you eat a clean organic diet then your weight should normalize over time [3]. Being overweight will cause a build up of fats in the liver and hinder its ability to function properly. Exercise regularly. Around 150 minutes a week is recommended, and there are many benefits to consistently exercising regularly, and this will help to reduce fat on the liver [4] Cut down on painkillers. Excessive use of painkillers, such as paracetamol and ibuprofen can cause damage to your liver [5]. Only take them if you absolutely need to and try to stick to minimum doses, discontinuing use as soon as possible. Avoid toxic chemicals. Toxic chemicals can enter our bodies through our skin (especially cuts), inhalation, consumption and even through our eyes. Aerosol deodorants and air fresheners are easily overlooked examples. If you’re going to use aerosols or kitchen sprays, make sure the room is well ventilated or wear a mask, and be sure to steer clear from air fresheners [6]. This is also why it’s a good idea to purify what you take in, whether it’s a high quality air purifier, water purifier, or pure (organic) food…it gives your liver less toxicity that it has to handle. Avoid unprotected sex and don’t share needles. Unprotected sex can lead to the contamination of the hepatitus virus. Hepatitis can lead to a long term autoimmune system developing, which causes a build of scar tissue in liver cells [7].You can also catch hepatitis from sharing bodily fluids with infected through needles, cuts and sores. If you are struggling with a drug problem, speak to your physician for help. Fast Occasionally. We get it, no one enjoys not eating! But never missing a meal is not very natural…most animals in nature, and our ancestors, would have had times of hunger. And during those times, your body goes into what’s called a catabolic state, where it basically clears out the backlog of waste that has been building up, and breaks down and recycles old cells. It’s also a chance for your liver to unburden itself of fats that may have built up as it burns them for fuel. If the idea of going a day without food seems too much, consider intermittent fasting, a very popular strategy these days amongst people seeking to lose weight, improve their health, or who just want to optimize their performance! [8] Lower your stress and improve your mood. Stress can indirectly and directly damage hepatic tissue [9]. There are many ways to reduce stress and improve your mood and anxieties, such as meditation and psychotherapy. Support your liver with the building blocks it needs for optimal function: Dandelion. A study showed that dandelion helped to prevent damage to the liver in mice [10]. More studies on animals have shown that dandelion can help to protect the liver from oxidative stress, as well as reducing the levels of stored fat [11]. Traditionally, Dandelion was used as a cholagogue, meaning it causes your liver and gallbladder to excrete bile, which also helps mobilize any build up of excess fat.Milk Thistle. Scientifically known as silybum marianum - milk thistle is well known for its powerful “liver protecting” effects, and is commonly used as a complementary therapy by people who have liver damage [12].Zinc. A study on 60 non-alcoholic liver cirrhosis patients showed that zinc supplementation improved liver function, while helping to prevent the excessive accumulation of copper that can lead to damage of the liver [13].Choline. An essential nutrient that is crucial to make substances required to remove cholesterol (fat) from the liver, which is also important for many other bodily functions [14]. Hard to get from a plant based diet, and some people need a lot more than others due to genetic factors (see Genetic Insights to find out if this is you)Beetroot. Possesses a compound called glutathione, which has the ability to help detox the body of toxins [15], and also Betaine, a precursor to Choline.Artichoke Extract. Increases bile production in the liver, as well as promoting the growth of new liver tissue - all while protecting the liver from damage because of the antioxidant silymarin found in artichokes [16].Chanca piedra. Contains powerful antioxidants that can help to protect the liver from free radicals and improve liver function [17]. Its name translates as ‘stone breaker’ and it has been traditionally used in South America to break apart calcified stones in the gallbladder and kidneys.Yarrow. Scientifically known as achillea millefolium, test tube studies have shown that yarrow can help to reduce inflammation of the liver [18].Jujube Fruit Extract. When carbohydrate (blood sugar) levels are depleted, and there is an absence of dietary carbohydrates (that are turned into glucose), Ketogenesis occurs where the fatty acids are converted into ketone bodies for energy [1].The predominant use of ketone bodies for energy (instead of glucose) is known as being in a state of ketosis. There are three types of ketone bodies [2]: Acetone Acetoacetic acid (AcAc) Beta-hydroxybutyric acid (BHB) Ketone salts contain ketone bodies (beta-hydroxybutyrate) which are bonded to a salt (sodium, magnesium or calcium) for quick energy release [3].When was Keto BHB (Beta HydroxyButyrate) first discovered? In 1921, endocrinologist Rollin Woodyatt noted that three water-soluble compounds, beta-hydroxybutyrate, acetoacetate and acetone (called ketone bodies) are produced in the liver when starvation or a diet of high fat and low carbs occurred. Also in 1921, The Mayo Clinic’s Russel Wilder named this the “ketogenic diet” and used it as an epilepsy treatment.Traditionally, Keto BHB supplements have been used to aid athletic performance, increase energy levels during periods of low carbohydrate intake, ease & reduce the frequency of migraines, inhibit inflammatory markers, regulate proteins that help defend the body against oxidative stress and free radicals, as well as aiding mental performance while in the keto-adaptation period. How does Keto BHB (Beta HydroxyButyrate) actually work? BHB will help you achieve ketosis and stay in it by boosting energy levels in the presence of no carbohydrate intake - this will also help with weight management. Ketone bodies are very energy-efficient as a fuel. They produce more ATP (adenosine triphosphate) thansugars do and so will give you an energy boost. A study on overweight diabetics showed those assigned a keto diet improved their blood sugar control and lostmore weight than those on a conventional, low-fat diabetes diet [4]. Beta-hydroxybutyric acid easily passes through membranes and is a source of energy for both the brain andbody [5]. People mainly use Keto BHB to:Boost energy, especially while in ketosisWhen carbs are not available, Ketone bodies act as an alternate source of energy. This is especially prevalent during fasting or prolonged exercise [6].Ketone bodies move to active tissues (brain or muscle) to be converted to acetyl-CoA by (ketolysis).Acetyl-Coa is then used to create ATP (adenosine triphosphate) which provides energy to drive many processes in living cells. [7].Control blood sugar levelsIn a study on 84 obese people - those with type 2 diabetes showed that a low-carb diet improved glycemic control and reduced or eliminated medication use [8].In another study on 25 overweight diabetics, those who were assigned a keto diet improved their blood sugar control and lost more weight compared to those on a conventional, low-fat diabetes diet online program [9].Also, according to a study of 64 healthy obese people, a keto diet improved body weight, BMI, blood sugar, and cholesterol [10].Studies seem to suggest that using ketone bodies as fuel can help stabilize blood sugar levels in obese people and reduces cellular dependency on glucose. This prevents health issues resulting from abnormally high or low blood sugar levels [11].Why Try Feel Younger® Keto BHB, Ketogenic Formula? Our Keto BHB is high quality, high purity, all natural and contains no nasty binders. It’s available to you in an easy to swallow capsule form - no more messing about with powder! How do you take it?For best results, take 2 capsules a day.It is advised for best results to leave a gap of at least 3 hours between your meals and the capsule.Any cautions? Some side effects of using ketone bodies as fuel can possibly include: Weakness Constipation Nausea Fatigue ALWAYS consult a healthcare professional before taking any new supplements. Feel Younger Feel Younger - Hair Oil 30ml
£19.00
Would you love your hair and scalp to… Be Nourished with the Vitamins & Minerals Needed for Healthy Growth Be Stronger, Softer and Smoother Stay Moisturized Throughout the Day, Minimizing Frizziness Be Healthier Looking, Shinier in Appearance & Confidence Inspiring Be Easier to Comb and Style Remain Protected from Harsh Weather and Environments Be Cleaner and Stay Smelling Fresh …if so, you’ll want to give our Hair Oil, with 9 Nutrient Rich Oils, a try!Why is it Important to Oil Your Hair & Scalp?Your hair is one of the first things that other people notice when they meet you or look at your pictures online, so having unhealthy hair will directly affect your confidence.Did you know that having healthy hair can also be a good overall indicator of your general health? When your hair is vibrant and healthy, it’s a good sign that you have enough nutrients in your body for the many processes that happen within you to work optimally. When you have healthy hair that is shiny, smooth, has good elasticity, hardly sheds and detangles easily - you will be more confident, which will help you to live a more fulfilling life.If you fail to look after your hair and scalp properly, you may experience split ends, frizziness, dryness, dandruff, itchiness and a distinct objection to looking in any mirror you see!You can also develop a condition called hygral fatigue - damage to your hair follicles which occurs when excess moisture enters the lower layers in the follicle beneath the cuticle (the top layer). When you wet your hair, the follicles expand. When you dry your hair, the follicles contract and close back up.If you wet your hair before it’s totally dry it will cause this process to repeat, which puts strain on the hair follicle - this is called hygral fatigue. This straining on the hair follicles will reduce the overall health, strength and elasticity of your hair.Symptoms of hygral fatigue are: Excess breakage & brittle hair Dull hair Frizzy hair Easily tangled hair (& excessively tangling) Can cause dryness Some of the main factors that can cause hygral fatigue are: Genetics based on how porous the hair follicle is (how easily water gets through) Overwashing with shampoos and conditioners which strip your scalp of natural protective oils that help to stop moisture getting into the follicles Excessive or frequent use of deep conditioners and hair masks also strips protective oils Highly alkaline hair products can also strip protective oils from your scalp, cause hair breakages and damage to hair follicle cuticles.. Hygral fatigue can lead to premature hair loss, which is definitely not a way to feel younger! How can you tell if your Hair & Scalp are healthy, or if they need some Support?Healthy hair should be: Smooth and shiny in appearance Have good elasticity Doesn’t shed many strands Has minimum breakages Easily detangles Doesn’t frizz much in humid conditions A healthy scalp should be: Flake free Itch and irritation free Clear of redness or signs of infection No signs of disruption to the skin of the scalp The Top 10 ways to Improve the Health of your Hair and ScalpHere’s the top 10 things you can do to improve the health and overall looks of your hair and scalp: Eat an organic, nutrient dense diet. Your hair needs essential vitamins and minerals (particularly B vitamins) to enable proper growth [1] Don’t overwash your hair. Every 2-3 days will suffice [2]. Don’t use overly alkaline shampoos and conditioners. Products with a pH value of 5.5 (the same as your scalp) can help to prevent damage to hair cuticles, lessen the chance of breakages and stripping away natural oils on the scalp [3]. Don’t deep condition or use hair masks too often. If your hair or scalp are already damaged, we’d recommend deep conditioning and using hair masks once or twice a month at the most, to avoid any further damage. Be sure to follow the recommendations on your hair products bottles. Leaving products on for too long can cause hair shafts to expand too much and break off. Don’t wet your hair again until it’s completely dry. Doing so contributes to the development of hygral fatigue, which is irreversible. Take care brushing your hair. It’s best to brush your hair when it’s dry, to reduce the chances of breakages or pulling hair out of the follicles when they’re swollen and open. Take care when shampooing. Massage shampoo into your scalp gently to prevent damage to it. The same goes for your hair - when you shampoo with too much force, you risk damaging the outer layer of your hair. Don’t rub your hair with a towel. There’s a natural tendency to rub your hair when it’s wet - however, this is when your hair and scalp are in their most vulnerable state. Instead, gently pat it dry or wrap a towel around your hair and leave it to dry naturally. Stop excessively brushing and combing. There’s a common myth that 100 strokes with a brush a day is essential for hair health… however - this is not the case. Excessive brushing and combing can lead to further hair loss [4] Provide your hair and scalp with nutrients and oils it needs to prevent damage and remain healthy: Argan Oil. Made from kernels from the fruit of the argan tree - argan oil contains antioxidants and fatty acids that can benefit your scalp.Jojoba Oil. Jojoba is a plant native to the deserts of North America. The nut grown by the Jojoba plant is especially sought after for its healing properties.Oil made from the nuts act as a humectant (to keep things moist), so it can help to reduce dandruff and keep your scalp hydrated and moisturized.Waxy in nature, it can create a soothing layer on the surface of your scalp to help ease irritation. This layer of oil on your skin will also help to regulate sebum production in your hair follicles.Jojoba oil also contains vitamin E, which is a powerful antioxidant. A study found that applying antioxidants to skin helped to improve the synthesis of collagen [5], which plays a crucial role in the health of your hair and scalp follicles.Vitamin E Oil. Vitamin E has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and is beneficial for scalp health [6] because it can support the overall health of your scalp by potentially preventing hair loss, balancing oil production, adding a desirable shine to your hair and improving circulation to the scalp.Sweet Almond Oil. Almond oil has been used traditionally for centuries to help soothe skin and is full of vitamin E and vitamin A. It can help to strengthen and repair your hair, while making it feel softer to the touch. Its vitamin E content can help to combat the stress your hair endures on an everyday basis from the environment, giving it that younger and healthier look.Apricot Kernel Oil. Rich in vitamin E and fatty acids, this oil is emollient in nature (softening & smoothening) and can be easily absorbed into the scalp.Avocado Oil. High in fatty acids and vitamins A and E - the topical application of this oil can also reap the benefits of the oils rich antioxidant content and can promote skin membrane health [7].Pumpkin Seed Oil. Can help to stimulate new hair growth.Grapeseed Oil. Helps to add strength to your hair, as well as providing moisture and shine.Hempseed Oil. Contains fatty acids omega-3 & omega-6 which can help to hydrate the hair and scalp, as well as providing extra protection.By combining the ingredients listed above into an easy to apply hair oil - we’ve taken the stress out of researching and buying each of these ingredients separately, and then trying to mix them together into the “perfect concoction” you can use daily. Here at Feel Younger®, we believe in providing top quality products at reasonable prices and use only the best ingredients we can get our hands on. Our hair oil HAS NOT been tested on animals and is all natural and vegan & vegetarian friendly. Our 1 fl.oz bottle will cost you no more than $19, with discounts available for multiple bottle or subscription purchases. How Do You Use Feel Younger® Hair Oil with 9 Nutrient Rich Oils?Use the dropper to place a dime sized amount of hair oil on your palm.Apply to the tips of your hair, or apply to all of your hair.Wrap your hair with a hot towel for 30 minutes, then shampoo as normal.Any Cautions?Although extremely rare, the combination of ingredients found in this product may cause skin and scalp irritation or rashes. This product contains tree nut oils and natural botanicals - if you are an allergy sufferer you should test a small amount of the hair oill on your skin and monitor the effects throughout the day before using it on a bigger area.KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.ALWAYS consult a healthcare professional before using any new products. Feel Younger Feel Younger - Emergency Immune Support (Echinacea + Elderberry) 60caps
£29.00
Would you like… Stronger Immunity A Nutritional Boost Reduced Inflammation Antioxidant Support Skin & Heart Protection Improved Mood If so, you may want to give our Emergency Immune Support with Echinacea + Elderberry a try!Why is it important to support your immune system?Every day your body comes into contact with different bacteria, viruses, parasites and other potentially harmful substances (pathogens).Your body’s primary defense system against pathogens is your skin, mucus, earwax etc.Should pathogens make their way into your body, your secondary defense system is your immune system.Your immune system protects your body from potential threats, and so - having a healthy and strong immune system is one of, if not the most important aspects to staying fit and healthy. If you have a strong immune system, you’re less likely to suffer from illness or infection - and if you do, a stronger immune system will fight off these threats more quickly and capably, resulting in less serious cases of the illness or infection. What causes a weakened immune system? The main factors that may contribute to a weakened immune system are: Old age [1] Air pollution (environmental toxins) [2] Excessive alcohol consumption [3] Being overweight (especially obesity) [4] Poor Diet [5] Certain medications & recreational drugs Mental stress & anxiety [6] Lack of sleep (or poor quality sleep) [7] Low levels/deficiency of Vitamin D [8] Smoking [9] Lack of exercise [10] Can you test for low immune System Function?Blood tests can help to determine if you have adequate levels of immunoglobulins (infection-fighting proteins) in your blood.Blood tests can also measure the levels of white blood cells (leukocytes) in your body, or specific types of white blood cells, like Neutrophils, which are your first line of defense. If the numbers of certain cells in your blood are outside the “standard range”, this may indicate there is an immune system defect, or that the immune system is still working to recuperate after a recent infection.Blood tests can also show if your immune system is responding properly and appropriately producing the proteins that find and kill foreign invaders (antibodies), such as viruses or bacteria. The Top 9 Ways to Support and Strengthen your Immune System:To keep your immune system healthy and functioning at optimal levels, there are plenty of things you can change in your life that can help: 1. Get 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep, every night. If this is something you struggle with, you might want to check out our Sleep Aid Ultra supplement2. Reduce your stress and anxiety. There are many lifestyle changes you can make to combat this, such as meditation. You can also try supplementing with our Serenity Anti-Stress Support or 5 HTP products3. Increase your Vitamin D levels - 30 minutes in the direct sunlight (with the majority of your skin exposed) can provide up to 25,000 IU of Vitamin D. If you live in a country that lacks strong sunshine, or it’s the winter, then Vitamin D supplementation, as found in our All in one Multivitamin Formula, is beneficial4. Eat a healthy diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables, ideally organic. Eating lots of fresh produce will help to lower your body fat percentage, which in turn can strengthen your immune system. Fruit and vegetables are also packed with vitamins and minerals (especially zinc) that are vital to maintain a healthy body and immune system.5. Cut out smoking recreational drugs, such as Marijuana - the smoke is not good for your immune system (see next point)6. Stop smoking tobacco. Smoking compromises the balance of your immune system and increases the risk of contracting autoimmune disorders, such as COPD7. Do more exercise. Even just a 20 minute daily walk has been proven to help strengthen the immune system8. Consume less alcohol. Excessive drinking has been shown to affect the immune system. Alcohol also contains a lot of sugar (alcohol is made from sugars) so cutting down will also help with weight management.9. Support your immune system with the vital nutrients and minerals it needs to get back to peak performance:ElderberryElderberry flowers, berries and leaves contain lots of antioxidants (anthocyanins, phenolics & flavonoids) that can help balance the immune system and lower oxidative stress [11].Although Elderberry grows across North Africa, Asia and America, it is native to Europe and the most common variety is the black elderberry (Sambucus nigra) or European elder.Traditionally used in folk medicine, the leaves and flowers have been used as natural remedies to help reduce inflammation, pain and swelling. The bark was also prepared to help with bowel movements and urination. The berries (fresh or dried) are believed to help relieve toothache, lower back pain, headaches, respiratory infections and constipation.John Evelyn (a british researcher in the 17th century) said: “If the medicinal properties of its leaves, bark and berries (elderberry) were fully known, I cannot tell what our country man could ail for which he might not fetch a remedy, either for sickness or wounds.”Its use has been widespread throughout history, with elderberry-based medication records dating as far back as Ancient Egypt.Since then, substantial amounts of studies have been conducted on elderberry and its ability to help with a wide range of ailments.A study on rats showed elderberry polyphenols supported immune defense by increasing the number of white blood cells [12].Air traveling puts the immune system under enormous stress. Those who fly frequently (and especially long distance) are more susceptible to the common cold.A double-blind placebo-controlled study on air travelers showed that Elderberry supplementation reduced cold symptoms and duration [13].EchinaceaThere are 9 species of the echinacea plant, from which extracts have been used in traditional medicine to help treat the common cold, bacterial infections and blood poisoning [14].The active compounds in Echinacea help to stimulate and/or strengthen the immune system [15].North American Indians primarily used echinacea as medicine. They would gargle with it for sore gums and toothache, use poultices for snakebite, stings, bites and wounds, and would they would also drink concoctions with echinacea in to help treat measles, mumps, arthritis, colds and smallpox. In the 1870’s, Dr. H C F Meyer concocted a herbal medicine with echinacea, which he patented. He described it as the ultimate cure for snakebites and a blood purifier.Since then, in the 1900’s echinacea was accepted by North America Herbalists to help treat most of the same ailments it had been used for in traditional native medicine. There have been many studies on this plant and how it may help your immune system deal with viruses and infections, helping you to recover faster from the illness [16].Vitamin CVitamin C plays a key role in immune-modulating and is essential for an adequate immune response against pathogens, to avoid excessive damage to the host [17].Vitamin EAnimal and human studies have shown the immunoregulatory role of Vitamin E that is associated with reducing the risk for infectious diseases, such as respiratory infections, Streptococcus pneumonia and influenza to name a couple [18].Vitamin B6Vitamin B6 has been shown to help regulate immune responses that are associated with a wide range of problems, including inflammation [19].A study showed that Vitamin B6 deficiency influenced the immune system in 3 key ways [20]: Downregulated SOCS-1 expression, and upregulated T-bet expression Suppressed T lymphocyte differentiation Decreased levels of IL-2 secretion and increased IL-4 secretion (high levels of IL-4 is associated with allergies) ZincZinc plays a crucial role in the immune system, and even a mild deficiency can increase the risk of parasitic, bacterial and viral infections, while impairing immune function [21]. A study on malnourished children & infants in developing countries showed that zinc supplementation reduced the incidence, severity and duration of respiratory infections [22].L-GlutamineGlutamine is an amino acid (the most abundant of all in our bodies). Its naturally occurring form (that our body uses) is called L-Glutamine. To survive, multiply and function properly (defend our body against pathogens), immune cells largely depend on glutamine availability [23].GarlicIn animal studies, garlic extract increased glutathione, which stimulates white blood cells (neutrophils, monocytes, lymphocytes & macrophages) [24].TurmericTurmeric is a spice that is well known for its bright orange/yellow color. Within turmeric, circuminoids are found (bioactive compounds). Traditionally, circumin is known for its antiinflammatory effects, but studies in the past 2 decades have shown circumin is capable of being a potent immunomodulatory agent that can help regulate immune cells [25].Lactobacillus AcidophilusLactobacillus Acidophilus (L. acidophilus) is a gram-positive lactic acid bacterium. In other words, a bacteria that gives a positive effect. In a study on mice, L. acidophilus showed the reversal of age-related immune function decline [26].Introducing Feel Younger® Emergency Immune Support with Echinacea + ElderberryWhile there are many lifestyle changes you can make to help boost your immune system, we understand that it may be difficult or impractical to make these changes. That’s why each of the ingredients listed above can be found in our Emergency Immune Support with Echinacea + Elderberry product, which can help give your immune system the boost it needs to help it get back on track and perform at its very best.By combining these ingredients together in an easy to swallow capsule - we’ve taken the stress out of buying each of these ingredients separately, researching and experimenting how much of each you should take and then incorporating them into your diet/supplement regime. Here at Feel younger, we believe in providing strong doses at reasonable prices. Our Emergency Immune Support capsules provide a 2200 mg daily dose, consisting of the following ingredients: Vitamin C Vitamin E Vitamin B6 Zinc L-Glutamine Elderberry Echinacea Garlic Turmeric L. Acidophilus All of which have been shown to potentially have immune boosting effects. How do you take Feel Younger® Emergency Immune Support with Echinacea + Elderberry?Take 2 capsules once a day with a glass of water, preferably 20-30 minutes before a meal. For optimal immune boosting results, we recommend you take this product, and make as many of the lifestyle changes we listed above as possible.Any Cautions?Ingesting too much Zinc can cause nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, diarrhea and headaches, so it’s best to not take any other zinc supplements alongside this product.Elderberry can cause stomach problems if too much is taken. If you have an autoimmune disorder (such as lupus or multiple sclerosis), you should not take this product (because of its echinacea content).Garlic possesses anti-blood-clotting properties, and so can interact with blood thinning medication. It can also lower blood pressure, so this product should not be taken alongside medications that also lower blood pressure. Do not take this product at least 7 days before a surgical procedure.Although very rare, Turmeric may cause nausea, constipation or other gut issues. We do not recommend this product for pregnant women.ALWAYS consult a healthcare professional before taking any new supplements. Those who fly frequently (and especially long distance) are more susceptible to the common cold.A double-blind placebo-controlled study on air travelers showed that Elderberry supplementation reduced cold symptoms and duration [7].Another double-blind placebo-controlled study tested the efficacy of 15 ml of Elderberry extract syrup, given 4 times a day to 60 patients who were suffering from influenza-like symptoms. The control group who did not take elderberry extract took 7-8 days to improve, compared to 2-4 days for those who took the syrup [8]A different study on elderberry extract and the reduction of influenza b symptoms showed that those given the elderberry extract recovered in 2-3 days, compared to at least 6 days in the placebo group [9].A study on rats showed elderberry polyphenols supported immune defense by increasing the number of white blood cells [10].Promote Heart HealthElderberry may improve some markers of blood vessels and heart health.Diets high in flavonoids such as anthocyanins (which are found in elderberries) have been shown to reduce the risk of heart problems [11].Numerous studies have shown that elderberry juice can help reduce the total level of fat in the blood, while decreasing cholesterol [12].Type-2 diabetes is one of the major contributors to heart and vascular problems, so blood sugar management is imperative to eliminate the risk of contracting these problems.Various studies on mice have shown that elderberries can help improve blood sugar levels while increasing insulin secretion [13].Why Try Feel Younger® Elderberry Immune Support, 600mg Elderberry Fruit Extract? Our Elderberry Immune Support capsules are high quality, high purity, all natural, sugar free, lactose free, corn free, vegetarian and vegan friendly and contain no nasty binders. Here at Feel Younger, we believe in providing strong doses at reasonable prices. It is responsible for 2 extremely important processes in our body. The first process is digestion. No matter how healthy (or not) your diet may be, optimal gut health is important for digestion so that you can absorb nutrients from food efficiently, utilize the building blocks that you need to maintain your body, and efficiently convert the food you eat into energy.Digestive enzymes are proteins that your body makes (mainly in your pancreas, but also in your small intestine, stomach and mouth) to break down food so your body can absorb the nutrients. For example, the digestive enzyme lipase is made to break down fats into glycerol and smaller fatty acids. The digestive enzyme lactase is made to help break down the natural sugar contained within milk which is called lactose. The second extremely important process that your digestive tract is significantly responsible for is your immune system. In fact, around 70% of your immune system is in your gut, which means good gut health is essential for optimal immune function to fight off bacteria, viruses and other pathogens that are dangerous to our bodies and can make us unwell.A healthy gut should contain many billions of “good” bacteria which multiply rapidly and create an acidic environment in the intestines so that the “bad” bacteria isn’t able to proliferate. The balance of these bacteria is often referred to as the gut microbiome (referring to microbes that are present in your digestive system). When your gut is not in good health, it will struggle to get rid of toxins (like endotoxin, believed to be a key factor in premature aging [1]) and substances that are left over from metabolic processes (metabolic waste) that must be excreted because they cannot be used by our bodies. What Impacts the Health of Your Gut & Digestion? If there is a problem with your digestive tract then digestive symptoms such as diarrhea, constipation, bloating, excess gas, abdominal pain, acid reflux and more can develop. But poor gut health can cause inflammation throughout the body, leading to a myriad of different health issues. In fact, ancient traditional modalities of health and healing, like Ayurvedic Medicine, actually believed that ‘all’ ill health had its origins in the gut.The gut is also known as an “extension of the brain” because its walls are lined with a system of neurons that help to govern the function of the gastrointestinal tract, which is known as the intrinsic or enteric nervous system. Again, this was known for thousands of years by Ancient Eastern systems like Taoism, the origin of Acupuncture and Chi Kung, who often referred to the gut as the ‘second brain’.Poor gut health has also been linked to the development of autoimmune disorders. There are many things that can damage the health of your gut and result in worsened digestion, such as: Genetic Factors (see Genetic Insights for more info on how your genetics may increase the likelihood of having gut issues.) Poor diet, including excess sugar and processed foods Nutritional Deficiencies Eating in a stressed state, usually leading to eating too quickly and not chewing your food enough Dehydration GastroIntestinal Dysbiosis, especially SIBO where too many bacteria grow in the small intestine (they are mainly meant to be in the large intestine, even ‘good’ bacteria can cause issues if too many are in the small intestine.) Food intolerances (although these maybe a symptom of gut issues, rather than cause)   Frequent Antibiotics Alcohol (along with any other downsides, alcohol kills all bacteria, good and bad, on contact, similar to an antibiotic, which is why it’s used as a disinfectant) Lack of exercise Smoking Lack of or Poor Quality Sleep Chronic Stress Is There a Test for Digestion? There are a variety of tests that can be taken to check your digestive health. Some of these include:Fecal Occult Blood Test, Stool Culture, Barium Meal, drink or enema, CT, CAT or MRI scans, Defecography, Ultrasound, Colonoscopy, Endoscopic procedures and more. Consult your physician if you are worried about symptoms you are experiencing and they will help you to determine the best course of action.Because your gut microbiome is so important to your overall health [2], it’s important to understand what’s going on, and how your gut is balanced.Microbiome tests can be conducted by your physician or at home. Although some tests use blood or saliva, the most comprehensive microbiome tests will require a stool sample.Your stool sample will be sent to a laboratory to be tested where they will analyze the balance of microbes in your gastrointestinal system. This will help you and your doctor understand if there is an imbalance of microbes that is causing problems to your overall health. The Top 8 Ways to Improve Your Gut Health:Here’s the top 8 changes you can make to your lifestyle to help support and improve your gastrointestinal health: Eat a clean, diverse organic diet full of nutrient dense foods. Processed (especially fast) foods cause harm to your gut microbiome [3]. Be sure to include prebiotic foods (a type of fiber that isn’t digested) [4] such as oats, bananas, chicory and asparagus, because they promote the growth of certain types of good bacteria. Note: prebiotic foods can make issues worse IF you have too many bacteria in the small intestine. If you suspect this is the case, get the advice of a professional who specializes in gut health. Eat in a relaxed state, where you will naturally eat slower and chew your food properly. Being in a stressed state is sometimes necessary, but while you are in a stressed state, digestion slows down significantly, and you produce much less of the digestive juices you need to sanitize and process your food, like saliva, stomach acid and bile. You’ll also tend to eat more quickly and not chew enough. So make sure you calm down before you start eating, even if it’s just taking a few deep breaths. This is where the tradition of saying grace comes from: even if you have no religious leanings, you may want to consider it as a way of refocusing your mind to be in a less stressed state, which will help you digest better! And once you’re relaxed, it will be easier to chew your food enough, sometimes as much as 30 times before swallowing, which helps your body to more easily digest the food and absorb as many nutrients as possible [5]. Find out if you’re intolerant to certain foods. Eating foods you're intolerant to will affect your digestive health, resulting in bloating, gas, diarrhea and more [6]. Speak to your physician to organize a skin prick or blood test.Another way to narrow down your intolerances is to record the foods you’ve eaten - be sure to write down how these foods make you feel. Only change one or two things at a time, so that you can easily identify any changes. If you suspect a food, many recommend an elimination diet, where you remove the suspected food for around a week, and then introduce it again, seeing if you notice any symptoms when you add it back into your diet. Limit alcohol consumption. Alcohol can induce changes to the microbiome in the gastrointestinal tract, (due to its ability to kill bacteria, but not kill and often feed yeasts such as candida) which can lead to increased oxidative stress amongst other problems [7]. Reduce your stress. Chronic Stress can seriously affect your guts microbiome composition [8].Occasional Stress is healthy, but ongoing stress is not. If you struggle to relax, there are many ways to lower your stress levels, such as meditation. You can also try supplementing with our Serenity Anti-Stress Support or 5 HTP products. Improve your sleep. Poor sleep and sleep deprivation can affect your microbiome diversity [9]. Our Sleep Aid Plus can also help, and read the page for more info on how to Sleep better naturally. LINK! Drink more water and stay hydrated. This is another way to encourage microbiome diversity [10], and staying hydrated is essential to your overall health, as well as reducing the likelihood of constipation.   Take a digestive enzyme supplement that is also packed full of live “good” bacteria that can help to boost your digestion and gut microbiome: Protease. Responsible for breaking down proteins into amino acids. In a study on piglets, protease supplementation increased nutrient utilization efficiency and growth performance [11].Lipase. Responsible for the breakdown of Fat into fatty acids, ready for your cells to absorb. Lipase is a very important ingredient in a digestive enzyme blend, because many of us struggle to digest the amount of fat we eat.Lactobacillus acidophilus. Often referred to as L. acidophilus, lactobacillus acidophilus is a variety of bacteria that can be found in the intestines which is essential for human health [12].Lactobacillus casei.  A powerful probiotic that is extremely beneficial to the digestive system. A study on patients with chronic constipation found that a probiotic drink containing L.casei helped to see improvements alongside other therapy [13].Lactobacillus plantarum. Found mainly in fermented plant foods such as pickles, L. plantarum has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, blood sugar regulatory, anti-weight gain and antioxidant properties. Studies have shown L. plantarum to reduce the incidence of abdominal pain, loose stools and diarrhea associated with antibiotics [14].Bromelain. Found in pineapples - bromelain is an enzyme that digests protein and has powerful anti-inflammatory properties. It also has pain killing properties [15].Papain. Found in raw papaya plant fruit, papain is a proteolytic enzyme that helps to break down proteins. It has a whole host of benefits, from helping to maintain digestive tract physiology [16], to reducing pain, inflammation and helping to heal wounds quicker. Our digestive enzyme probiotic supplement includes Makzyme-Pro™ Enzyme Blend, which is a formula made up of Protease, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus casei and Lactobacillus plantarum. This powerful combination helps to improve your gut health and assists your body in breaking down foods more effectively so that nutrients can be absorbed more efficiently. In addition to Makzyme-Pro™ we have added Bromelain, Papain, Lipase, Lactase and Alpha Galactosidase to further enhance the power and effectiveness of the supplement. We understand that it’s not always easy, nor practical to implement a variety of lifestyle changes - especially all at once. We’d advise that you make as many of the changes listed further up this page as possible, but to do so 1 or 2 at a time, make sure they stick and then move onto more.In the meantime, you can support your body with essential good bacteria it needs to maintain a healthy gut microbiome. Here at Feel younger, we believe in providing strong doses at reasonable prices. Would you like: Help with Weight Loss Cholesterol Support Improved Heart Health Enhanced Mood If so, you may want to give CLA a try. What is CLA and where does it come from?CLA is short for Conjugated Linoleic Acid(s), which is, in essence, an omega-6 fatty acid, but a healthy one.CLA is a naturally occurring fatty acid that is produced by a bio-hydrogenation process in the rumen, and thus is present in dairy products and ruminant meat (9cis, 11 trans).28 different forms of CLA exist [1].The difference between these structures is that their double bonds are organized in different ways. It’s vital to keep in mind that something as small as this can make a massive difference to our cells.Traditional UseCLA supplements are most commonly sold because of their reputation for aiding weight loss [2].CLA is also sometimes used as a dietary supplement for bodybuilding.Story of DiscoveryIn 1987, researchers at the University of Wisconsin in Madison first discovered CLA.Dr. Pariza first noted an extract in beef, back in 1978, that appeared to be an anticarcinogenic, but it wasn’t until 1987 that he identified this extract to be CLA.Since the discovery, a surge of scientific studies and research have been conducted on how CLA affects body mass and other potential benefits it may have on human health. In the past, people received healthy doses of CLA through their diet, by consuming beef and dietary fats. However, the way cattle are raised has changed… and it is this change, as well as the change in people's diets today, that has lowered the amount of CLA people are able to ingest. The majority of cattle no longer graze in pastures on natural grass and other foods. Instead, they are fed meat products and processed grains. This has resulted in a decrease in cattle's internal production of CLA, meaning less conjugated linoleic acid is consumed from eating meat and dairy products.Furthermore, most people that worry about cholesterol and fat intake adjust their diets to eat less red meat and dairy products, which in turn reduces the amount of CLA in their diet.Fortunately, scientists have developed a process to convert the linoleic acid of pure safflower oil into conjugated linoleic acid. How does it work?CLA works in the following ways: Boosts metabolism, thus aiding obesity & weight management by reducing body weight, reducing BMI, total fat mass, fat percentage and fat burned while sleeping [3]. CLA can improve blood pressure by increasing adiponectin and endothelial nitric oxide synthase activity [4]. Helps to reduce bad cholesterol (HDL-cholesterol), without impacting and raises good cholesterol levels (LDL-cholesterol). Can help improve heart health by increasing the amount of C-reactive protein (CRP) in the blood, which is a marker for inflammation. People mainly use CLA to: Aid Weight Loss A study done on overweight Chinese subjects found that CLA supplementation (twice daily dissolved in milk) helped with weight loss over a 12-week period [5].The supplementation was found to reduce body weight, reduce BMI, reduce total fat mass, and reduce fat percentage. The treatment also reduced waist to hip ratio and reduced subcutaneous fat mass.Studies have shown that CLAs decrease lipid storage by increasing the rate of fat breakdown in fat tissue [6].The fatty acids also increase fatty acid oxidation and reduce glucose uptake in cultured fat cells.Improve Heart Health & CholesterolIn a study of 80 obese and hypertensive people, CLA combined with ramipril reduced blood pressure more than ramipril alone [7].Another study found that high intakes of both cis-9, trans-11 and trans-10, cis-12 CLA raised the level of HDL cholesterol in healthy women.HDL cholesterol promotes low cholesterol levels and healthy heart function [8].High levels of glucose result in major heart damage and heart problems. A study in rat cells found that cells pre-treated with CLA and then exposed to high glucose levels had reduced heart damage and a decreased risk of heart problems, than cells not pre-treated in the same conditions [9].Our CLA from Safflower oil is all natural (unlike most that are chemically altered), sugar free, hormone free, lactose free and doesn’t contain any nasty binders. Here at Feel Younger, we believe in providing strong doses at reasonable prices. Our CLA from Safflower oil softgels provide a 1000mg dose per softgel, and will cost you no more than $19, with discounts available on subscriptions for multiple bottles. How do you take it?Take one softgel with food, twice a day.Taking with food will help the body better utilize the CLA.Any cautions?Possible side effects of taking CLA can be excessive flatulence, bloating, nausea and diarrhoea.CLA can increase insulin resistance.ALWAYS consult a healthcare professional before taking any new supplements. Socialize more often. Spend more time in natural light and brighter lit rooms earlier in the day. Provide your brain with minerals and vitamins that are essential for it to function optimally: Vitamin A - Vitamin A is crucial to brain function, behavior and learning [11].Vitamin C - Your brain requires huge amounts of oxygen to function, which means it is extremely susceptible to oxidative stress. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant and helps to reduce oxidative stress [12].Calcium - Calcium is essential for optimal blood flow to the brain [13].Vitamin D - Essential for brain health, deficiency in Vitamin D can contribute to brain fog, low mood and can impact cognitive health [14].Magnesium - Optimal levels of magnesium in the body is crucial for brain health. Deficiency of magnesium (or low levels of) is commonly found in people who are stressed [15].Vitamin B1 - A deficiency of thiamine (vitamin B1) can contribute to increased confusion, can be of detriment to your ability to think clearly as well as reducing your awareness of your surroundings [16].Vitamin B2 - Riboflavin vitamin b2) can help to reduce inflammation and oxidative stress to nerves in the brain, both of which can contribute to headaches and migraines [17].Vitamin B3 - Niacin (vitamin B3) is another B vitamin that plays an important role in the health of your brain. It’s involved in making and repairing DNA, cell signaling and acts as an antioxidant [18].Folate - Suboptimal mental function can be linked to low folic acid (folate) levels in the blood.A randomized controlled trial over 2 years showed that 400mg folic acid supplementation improved measures of brain function and decreased blood levels of proteins that are linked to Alzheimer’s disease [19].Selenium - Selenium is a powerful antioxidant [20], and people with Alzheimer’s have been found to have lower levels of selenium in their blood [21].Copper - Essential for brain function, too much or too little copper in the body can be linked with neurodegeneration [22].Manganese - Manganese is required for many functions in the body, which includes normal brain and nervous system function. It’s another powerful antioxidant (potentially one of the most important) [23] that can help to protect your brain against free radicals, as well as improving your brain function [24].Potassium - Potassium plays an important role in the cardiovascular system, helping to get blood to the brain [25].Choline - Choline is needed to produce a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine, which is crucial to regulate intelligence, mood and memory [26].Grape Seed Extract - Grapes contain flavonoids, which possess powerful antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. Studies have shown that grape seed extract may help to improve cognitive status and antioxidant levels in the brain, while preventing memory loss [27].GABA - GABA (gamma aminobutyric acid) is an amino acid that functions as a neurotransmitter in the brain. When GABA attaches to a GABA receptor in the brain, it has a calming effect [28].Bilberry Fruit Extract - Bilberry fruit extracts have been shown to help improve memory (both working and long-term) in older adults [29].And many more!We understand that it’s not always easy, nor is it practical to implement a variety of lifestyle changes at once. We’d advise that you make as many of those changes listed further up this page as possible, but to do so 1 or 2 at a time, make sure they stick and then implement a couple more.In the meantime, you can support your body with the essential nutrients and minerals it needs that can help you to boost your brain's function. That’s why we’ve included the above ingredients into our Brain Boost Plus formula, and included other minerals and vitamins that we think are worth taking to support the health of your brain, such as: Vitamin E [30], Iron [31], Biotin [32], Vitamin B5 [33], Vitamin B6 [34], Zinc [35], Chromium [36], Molybdenum [37], DMAE Bitartrate [38], L-glutamine [39], Green Tea Extract [40], Bacopa Extract [41], Inositol [42], N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine [43], Olive Leaf [44], Cinnamon Bark Extract [45], Licorice Root Extract [46], Boron [47], DHA [48], Vanadyl [49], Phosphatidylserine [50], Huperzine A [51]. Feel Younger Feel Younger - Magnesium Glycinate 425mg 60caps
£19.00
What is Magnesium?Magnesium is an important mineral that’s crucially important for your body to function properly. It’s the fourth most abundant mineral found in your body[2] and it’s essential to all living cells and vital for myriad physiological functions[3].The reason why the benefits are so numerous and varied is because of the many ways that optimal levels of magnesium are necessary to function optimally. For instance, magnesium is required for the production of ATP (the main source of energy in our cells)[4], and the production of DNA, RNA, and proteins[5].Magnesium plays an important role in cell-to-cell communication[6].Over 300 enzymes (biological catalysts that make chemical processes happen in our body) require the presence of magnesium to function properly[7].Because of its positive charge, magnesium stabilizes the cellular membranes[8].How common is magnesium deficiency? While a deficiency severe enough to warrant medical attention is relatively rare, some health professionals believe that suboptimal levels of magnesium are relatively common, with estimates as high as 75% of people in the US not having a sufficient intake,[16] let alone an optimal intake, which has yet to be precisely defined. As with any essential nutrient, here at Feel Younger we believe that it’s always ideal to test your magnesium levels to be sure if it would be beneficial to take. The best tests for Magnesium are generally considered to be: RBC (red blood cell) or intracellular magnesium, to get a true understanding of overall deficiency. The more common tests are plasma or serum magnesium, which are much cheaper and easily available, but which are less of a true reflection of your body’s stores of magnesium, as your body will tend to keep your plasma and serum levels in a tight range in all but severe cases of deficiency.RBC (red blood cell) or intracellular magnesium tests, on the other hand, are considered to give a more accurate indication of true, overall levels of magnesium stores in the cells, which is what actually matters when assessing if levels are optimum. If you’re unable to access these tests however, then, given that Magnesium is a natural substance that is very safe for the vast majority of the population (see below for exceptions), it seems reasonable to try it, if you would like to support your body to Feeling Younger and Healthier, especially if you identify with some of the early signs of deficiency listed above. What causes Magnesium Deficiency? The most commonly understood causes of Magnesium Deficiency include[17]: a poor diet type 2 diabetes digestive problems such as Crohn’s disease long-term vomiting or diarrhoea kidney problems long-term use of diuretics some medicines (for example, fluid tablets and medicines for ulcers or reflux) can cause low magnesium levels if taken for long periods alcoholism In addition, some healthcare professionals point to the fact that, even in the case of a relatively good diet, it’s an established fact that the soil in which our food grows is 75%-90% lower in essential minerals like magnesium than it was 100 years ago.[18]So whether you’re eating plants, which can only get the minerals from the soil, or whether you’re eating animals that ate those plants, the results is the same: the food we’re eating is more mineral depleted, and therefore magnesium depleted, than it was up until relatively recently in our evolution. Finally, there is strong evidence that stress itself depletes magnesium[19]. This creates a vicious cycle where stress depletes magnesium, and then lowered magnesium reduces stress. Presumably, in order to break this cycle, you would need to replenish magnesium as well as reduce stress. What’s the Best Form of Magnesium to Take? There are many different forms of magnesium available, including citrate, sulfate, oxide, chloride and malate. However, the form that’s considered the best, the most easily absorbed by the body, is Magnesium Glycinate.Forms of magnesium that are less well absorbed and cheaper, like for instance magnesium oxide, have a laxative effect. As a general rule, the less well absorbed the form of magnesium is, the more of a laxative effect it’ll have. When consuming mineral supplements, the best form is generally considered to be when it’s chelated (chemically bonded) to an amino acid. Why is this? Because minerals in their raw form are inorganic, meaning that the body does not recognise them as food, often doesn’t absorb them well, and then also struggles to excrete them.Conversely, when a mineral is bonded to an amino acid, or chelated, this makes the mineral and Organic Mineral i.e. it’s the same form found in food, and so your body recognises the magnesium as food, and absorbs it a lot better.Magnesium Glycinate then, the type sold by Feel Younger, is considered the best form of magnesium because it’s bonded to Glycine, an abundant amino acid in the body which has a whole host of it’s own benefits[20], including: Glycine is one of the building blocks of the body’s most powerful natural antioxidant, glutathione Necessary to make collagen, for healthy skin Can improve sleep quality Can help keep blood sugar balanced May protect the liver and the heart Can protect against muscle loss. Although Glycine is not considered as an essential amino acid, because the body is capable of making its own, if necessary, many healthcare professionals consider it a good idea to increase glycine intake, either through natural foods like bone broth, or via supplementation.Feel Younger is proud to present our Magnesium Glycinate, containing 425mg of Elemental Magnesium per serving, which is close to the recommended daily amount for most people, enough to make up for the shortfall in almost any diet. How do you take Feel Younger ® Magnesium Glycinate?Ideally take with water directly before eating a meal, for maximum absorption, but can be taken any time, or as directed by a healthcare professional. Are there any cautions?Though magnesium supplements are generally considered safe, you should check with a healthcare professional before taking them, especially if you have a medical condition. The mineral supplement may be unsafe for people who take certain diuretics, heart medications, or antibiotics[21].Most people who take magnesium supplements don’t experience side effects, but magnesium can cause gut-related issues such as diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting, especially when used in large doses[22].It’s important to note that people with kidney issues are at a higher risk of experiencing adverse effects related to magnesium supplements[23].Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making any changes to your diet or lifestyle. Feel Younger Feel Younger - 5 HTP Serotonin Support 200mg 60caps
£19.00
Would you like: Improved Mood Lower Anxiety and Stress Reduced Appetite Better Sleep How can 5-HTP help with this?Optimal levels of Serotonin can potentially give you all these benefits and more, as 5-HTP is a direct precursor to Serotonin. There is also some evidence that 5-HTP can potentially help with headaches, weight loss and even fibromyalgia. What is 5-HTP?5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) is an amino acid that is a precursor of Serotonin and Melatonin in the brain. It is usually made in the body from the amino acid L-Tryptophan.Serotonin helps regulate your mood naturally. When you serotonin levels are normal, you feel: Happier Calmer More focused Less anxious More emotionally stable More confidant A 2007 study found that people with depression often have low levels of serotonin. Serotonin deficiency has also been linked to anxiety and insomnia.Melatonin is a hormone produced by the pineal gland in your brain, from Serotonin [1].It’s primarily responsible for regulating your body’s circadian rhythm to manage your natural sleep cycle [2].5-HTP in supplement form is extracted from the seeds of the plant Griffonia simplicifolia, an African shrub. How 5-HTP Helps Improve MoodThe effects of 5-HTP on symptoms of low mood have been well studied. While the exact cause of low mood is largely unknown, some researchers believe that a serotonin imbalance may influence your mood in a way that leads to depression [3].5-HTP supplements are thought to improve low mood by increasing serotonin levels. In fact, several small studies have found that 5-HTP reduced symptoms of depression. However, two of them did not use placebos for comparison, limiting the strength of their findings [4] [5].Reduced Appetite by Increasing Feeling of Fullness5-HTP may increase feelings of fullness, causing you to eat less and lose weight.Weight loss can increase the production of hormones that make you feel hungry, like Ghrelin. These feelings of constant hunger can make losing weight difficult and unsustainable in the long term [6] [7].5-HTP may counteract these hunger-inducing hormones, working to suppress appetite and help you lose weight [8].In one study, 20 people were randomly assigned to receive either 5-HTP or a placebo for two weeks. The results showed that those who received 5-HTP consumed 435 fewer calories per day, compared to the placebo group [9].Also, 5-HTP primarily inhibited the intake of calories from carbohydrates, which was associated with better blood sugar control [10].This is presumably because a craving for carbohydrate is partially based on a desire to increase serotonin, as carbohydrate rich foods increase blood serotonin levels. Many other studies have also found that 5-HTP increased feelings of fullness and aided weight loss in overweight or obese people [11] [12].Finally, animal studies have shown that 5-HTP may reduce excessive food intake due to stress or depression [13].Why try Feel Younger® 5 HTP 200mg Serotonin SupportOur 5-HTP is high quality, high purity, all natural, sugar free, hormone free and contains no nasty binders. We also believe in giving you an effective quantity and at a reasonable price, which is why we provide you 200mg a serving, 30 servings, for a maximum cost of only $19 (with greater discounts for subscriptions or purchases of multiple bottles. How do you take 5 HTP 200mg Serotonin Support?Take capsules with water. The recommended instructions for 5-HTP use depends on your reason for taking it.Here are some general guidelines with scientific references: Weight management: 2 capsules, 30 minutes prior to a meal [14].Mood enhancement: 1 capsule, 1-2 times per day with meals. [15]. Sleep aid: 1-2 capsules, 30–45 minutes before bed. Stack with Sleep Aid Ultra to increase effectiveness [16]. Any cautions? Some people may experience nausea, diarrhea, vomiting and stomach pain when taking 5-HTP supplements. These side effects are dose-dependent, meaning they get worse when increasing your dose [17].To minimize these side effects, start with a dose of 50–100 mg (½ to 1 capsule) once a day and increase to the appropriate dose over a two-week period [18].Some medications increase serotonin production. Combining these medications with 5-HTP may cause dangerous serotonin levels in your body. This is called serotonin syndrome, a potentially life-threatening condition [19].Medications that may increase your body’s serotonin levels include certain antidepressants, cough medicines or prescription pain relievers.Since 5-HTP may also promote sleep, taking it with prescription sedative medications, such as Klonopin, Ativan or Ambien, may cause too much sleepiness.Due to the potential for negative interactions with other medications, ALWAYS consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking 5-HTP supplements. Just like your hair, your beard needs to be washed. If you neglect it, it will become greasy and sebum (oil) will block your hair follicles increasing the risk of beard hairs falling out [2]. Don’t spend too long in the sun. Overexposure to the sun can result in UV radiation damaging your beard hair [3]. It will also dry it out, which will increase the chances of strands snapping. You should also limit use of blow dryers, and other heat inducing devices on your beard. Reduce your stress. Many studies have been conducted on how stress affects hair growth and loss [4]. Stop smoking. Smoking inhibits proper circulation of blood around your body. This means that your beard hair and follicles won’t get the oxygen and nutrients they need to grow optimally [5]. Don’t comb your beard too often. Over combing your beard will cause hairs to break or fall out, potentially giving you an uneven look. Don’t rub your beard dry with a towel. Excessively rubbing your beard dry with a towel will again cause hairs to fall out. Instead, pat it dry. Arrange a thyroid test. If your beard is patchy or losing hair excessively, your thyroid could be the cause [6].  Don’t trim it too early. It’s incredibly important to leave your beard to grow without a trim for 4-6 weeks. Once it’s grown out, you can even it up with a trim to “train” your beard to grow to the shape you want.  Support your beard with the minerals and nutrients it needs to grow and stay healthy: Golden Jojoba Oil. Jojoba is a plant native to the deserts of North America. The nut grown by the Jojoba plant is especially sought after for its healing properties.Oil made from the nuts act as a humectant (to keep things moist), so it can help to reduce beard dandruff and keep the skin under your beard hydrated and moisturized.Waxy in nature, it can create a soothing layer on the surface of your skin to help ease irritation. This layer of oil on your skin will also help to regulate sebum production in your hair follicles.Jojoba oil also contains vitamin E, which is a powerful antioxidant. A study found that applying antioxidants to skin helped to improve the synthesis of collagen [7].Argan Oil. Made from kernels from the fruit of the argan tree - argan oil contains antioxidants and fatty acids that can benefit your beard and the skin underneath it.Vitamin E Oil. Vitamin E has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and is beneficial for skin health [8]. It can be used to treat a variety of skin conditions like acne.Sweet Almond Oil. Almond oil has been used traditionally for centuries to help soothe skin and is full of vitamin E and vitamin A.By combining the ingredients listed above into an easy to apply beard oil - we’ve taken the stress out of researching and buying each of these ingredients separately, and then trying to mix them together into a “beard formula” you can use daily. Here at Feel Younger®, we believe in providing top quality products at reasonable prices and use only the best ingredients we can get our hands on.
