Why is it Important to Support Your Gastrointestinal System?Your gastrointestinal tract (gut) is a long tube that stretches from the mouth, all the way to your anus. It is responsible for 2 extremely important processes in our body. The first process is digestion. No matter how healthy (or not) your diet may be, optimal gut health is important for digestion so that you can absorb nutrients from food efficiently, utilizing the building blocks that you need to maintain your body, as well as efficiently converting the food you eat into energy. The second extremely important process is your immune system. In fact, around 70% of your immune system is in your gut, which means good gut health is essential for optimal immune function to fight off bacteria, viruses and other pathogens that are dangerous to our bodies and can make us unwell.A healthy gut should contain many billions of “good” bacteria which multiply rapidly and create an acidic environment in the intestines so that the “bad” bacteria isn’t able to proliferate. The balance of these bacteria is often referred to as the gut microbiome (referring to microbes that are present in your digestive system). When your gut is not in good health, it will struggle to get rid of toxins (like endotoxin, believed to be a key factor in premature aging [1]) and substances that are left over from metabolic processes (metabolic waste) that must be excreted because they cannot be used by our bodies. What Impacts the Health of Your Gut?Digestive symptoms such as diarrhea, constipation, bloating, excess gas, abdominal pain, acid reflux and more can develop, but poor gut health can cause inflammation throughout the body, leading to a myriad of different health issues. In fact, ancient traditional modalities of health and healing, like Ayurvedic Medicine, actually believed that ‘all’ ill health had its origins in the gut.The gut is also known as an “extension of the brain” because its walls are lined with a system of neurons that help to govern the function of the gastrointestinal tract, which is known as the intrinsic or enteric nervous system.Again, this was known for thousands of years by Ancient Easters systems like Taoism, the origin of Acupuncture and Chi Kung, who often referred to the gut as the ‘second brain’.Poor gut health has also been linked to the development of autoimmune disorders. There are many things that can damage the health of your gut, such as:
Genetic Factors (see Genetic Insights for more info on how your genetics may increase the likelihood of having gut issues.)
Poor diet, including excess sugar and processed foods
Nutritional Deficiencies
Eating in a stressed state, usually leading to eating too quickly and not chewing your food enough
Dehydration
GastroIntestinal Dysbiosis, especially SIBO where too many bacteria grow in the small intestine (they are mainly meant to be in the large intestine, even ‘good’ bacteria can cause issues if too many are in the small intestine.)
Food intolerances (although these maybe a symptom of gut issues, rather than cause)
Frequent Antibiotics
Alcohol (along with any other downsides, alcohol kills all bacteria, good and bad, on contact, similar to an antibiotic, which is why it’s used as a disinfectant.)
Lack of exercise
Smoking
Lack of or Poor Quality Sleep
Chronic Stress
Can You Test The Bacteria in Your Gut?Because your gut microbiome is so important to your overall health [2], it’s important to understand what’s going on, and how your gut is balanced.Microbiome tests can be conducted by your physician or at home. Although some tests use blood or saliva, the most comprehensive microbiome tests will require a stool sample.Your stool sample will be sent to a laboratory to be tested where they will analyze the balance of microbes in your gastrointestinal system. This will help you and your doctor understand if there is an imbalance of microbes that is causing problems to your overall health. We recommend the Biomesight test for giving a very detailed and accurate picture at a very affordable price. The Top 8 Ways to Improve Your Gut Health:Here’s the top 8 changes you can make to your lifestyle to help support and improve your gastrointestinal health:
Eat a clean, diverse organic diet full of nutrient dense foods. Processed (especially fast) foods cause harm to your gut microbiome [3].Be sure to include prebiotic foods (a type of fiber that isn’t digested) [4] such as oats, bananas, chicory and asparagus, because they inhibit the growth of certain types of good bacteria. Note: prebiotic foods can make issues worse IF you have too many bacteria in the small intestine. If you suspect this is the case, get the advice of a professional who specializes in gut health.
Eat in a relaxed state, where you will naturally eat slower and chew your food properly. Being in a stressed state is sometimes necessary, but while you are in a stressed state, digestion slows down significantly, and you produce much less of the digestive juices you need to sanitize and process your food, like saliva, stomach acid and bile. You’ll also tend to eat more quickly and not chew enough. So make sure you calm down before you start eating, even if it’s just taking a few deep breaths. This is where the tradition of saying grace comes from: even if you have no religious leanings, you may want to consider it as a way of refocusing your mind to be in a less stressed state, which will help you digest better!
And once you’re relaxed, it will be easier to chew your food enough, sometimes as much as 30 times before swallowing, which helps your body to more easily digest the food and absorb as many nutrients as possible [5].
Find out if you’re intolerant to certain foods. Eating foods you're intolerant to will affect your digestive health, resulting in bloating, gas, diarrhea and more [6]. Speak to your physician to organize a skin prick or blood test.Another way to narrow down your intolerances is to record the foods you’ve eaten - be sure to write down how these foods make you feel. Only change one or two things at a time, so that you can easily identify any changes. If you suspect a food, many recommend an elimination diet, where you remove the suspected food for around a week, and then introduce it again, seeing if you notice any symptoms when you add it back into your diet.
Limit alcohol consumption. Alcohol can induce changes to the microbiome in the gastrointestinal tract, (due to its ability to kill bacteria, but not kill and often feed yeasts such as candida) which can lead to increased oxidative stress amongst other problems [7].
Reduce your stress. Chronic Stress can seriously affect your guts microbiome composition [8].Occasional Stress is healthy, but ongoing stress is not. If you struggle to relax, there are many ways to lower your stress levels, such as meditation. You can also try supplementing with our Serenity Anti-Stress Support or 5 HTP products.
Improve your sleep. Poor sleep and sleep deprivation can affect your microbiome diversity [9]. Our Sleep Aid Plus can also help, and read the page for more info on how to Sleep better naturally.
Drink more water and stay hydrated. This is another way to encourage microbiome diversity [10], and staying hydrated is essential to your overall health, as well as reducing the likelihood of constipation.
Take a probiotic full of live “good” bacteria that can help to boost your gut microbiome:
Probiotic Ingredients That Can Increase the Health of Your GutLactobacillus acidophilus. Often referred to as L. acidophilus, lactobacillus acidophilus is a variety of bacteria that can be found in the intestines which is essential for human health [11].Bifidobacterium lactis. Another type of bacteria that can be found in the gut, B.lactis or B. animalis as it is sometimes referred to, helped to prevent cases of acute diarrhea in infants [12].Lactobacillus plantarum. Found mainly in fermented plant foods such as pickles, L. plantarum has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, blood sugar regulatory, anti-weight gain and antioxidant properties. Studies have shown L. plantarum to reduce the incidence of abdominal pain, loose stools and diarrhea associated with antibiotics [13].Fructooligosaccharide. Found in foods such as garlic, onion and blue agave and sometimes referred to as FOS - fructooligosaccharide are prebiotic (compounds in foods that help the growth and activity of microorganisms that are beneficial) and can provide some protection against food-related illnesses such as salmonella [14].Introducing Feel Younger® Probiotic 40 Billion with Maktrek® Bi-Pass TechnologyIn addition to the above ingredients, we’ve added Maktrek’s patented proprietary Bi-Pass Technology.Maktrek is a patented, groundbreaking formula that enables better absorption of probiotics. This is especially important because most probiotics don’t actually absorb efficiently in the digestive tract and are usually just broken down by digestive acids in the stomach. With Maktrek Bi-Pass Technology, the easy to swallow capsule has an added layer of protection that allows the probiotic to travel through the stomach without being broken down. Once in the intestines, the capsule can release the probiotic where your body can use the live bacteria effectively. We understand that it’s not always easy, nor practical to implement a variety of lifestyle changes - especially all at once. We’d advise that you make as many of the changes listed further up this page as possible, but to do so 1 or 2 at a time, make sure they stick and then move onto more.In the meantime, you can support your body with essential good bacteria it needs to maintain a healthy gut microbiome.By combining these bacteria into an easy to swallow capsule with Maktrek Bi-Pass Technology, we’ve taken the stress out of using probiotics that can’t efficiently and effectively deliver the bacteria to where it needs to be.Here at Feel younger, we believe in providing strong doses at reasonable prices. Our Probiotic capsules provide a strong and healthy dose of billions of live bacteria, and will cost you no more than $35, with discounts available on multiple bottle and subscription purchases. How Do You Take Feel Younger® Probiotic 40 Billion with Maktrek® Bi-Pass Technology?Take two capsules once a day.DO NOT exceed two capsules a day.Any Cautions?Although rare, some people may experience bloating, gas or constipation when taking probiotics.ALWAYS consult a healthcare professional before taking any new supplements.

Why is it important to support your Skin? It’s incredibly important to keep the condition of your skin in good health for a variety of reasons, other than the most obvious: because healthy skin, hair and nails makes you look a lot better! Our skin is the largest organ of our body and protects us in many ways:
Forms a barrier and protects our nerves, blood vessels, muscles and bones, as well as everything else inside our body, preventing bacteria and other foreign objects from getting inside
Nerves on the skin are the reason we can feel. Without nerves, we would not know what is dangerous to our bodies and life (pain).
Extreme temperatures are damaging to our bodies, and nerves help us to know what is too hot, or too cold and our skin helps regulate body temperature by sweating when we are too hot, and keeps valuable warmth in when it’s cold.
Our skin protects us from ultraviolet light that damages cells.
Vitamin D is produced by healthy skin when directly exposed to the sun. Vitamin D is crucial for many bodily functions, such as regulating levels of phosphate and calcium in our body (that are crucial for healthy bones, muscles and teeth), as well as facilitating normal immune function.
What Causes Unhealthy Skin? There are a variety of different factors that can contribute to poor skin health, such as:
Poor Diet. For healthy skin, you need a variety of nutrients [1], vitamins and minerals… for example, Vitamin C is very important for creating collagen.
Stress. Stress can adversely affect your skin in the way of acne outbreak, as well as advancing the aging in your skin - making you look older! [2]
Dryness. If your skin is lacking moisture it can cause it to crack and break, creating an opening for harmful substances to enter our bodies. Not only that, it hurts!
Overexposure to moisture. Excessive levels of moisture will cause your skin to prune (wrinkle) and soften, which leaves it more susceptible to damage.Too many long, hot showers can also dry your skin out and frequent contact with moisture or chemicals, such as cleaning products, washing up liquid or nail polish and remover.
Smoking. Cigarette smoking and the causative effects it has on our skin has been studied heavily. Smoking affects several biophysical characteristics of the skin [3].
Popping pimples & picking scabs. Although it’s extremely tempting, you should never pop your pimples! When you do, it causes the skin to rupture, leaving a blemish.Scabs are formed over wounds (areas of the skin that are trying to heal themselves) to protect them. If you pick at scabs or remove them completely, especially too early - you increase the risk of scarring, as well as slowing down the wound healing process.
Underlying conditions. Your skin can be the first to experience symptoms if there is something else going on in your body.
How can you tell if your Skin is healthy, or if it needs some support?Your skin can show you that it’s unhappy in many different ways:
Discoloration (hyperpigmentation) or dullness
Itchiness
Cracked or splits easily
Moles growing in size
Yellowing (jaundice)
Wrinkles appear in places you wouldn’t expect
Red patches (sometimes with scales - psoriasis)
Hardening
Acne
All of these symptoms could be signs that there is something more serious going on inside your body.If you are worried about your skin, it’s best to speak to your physician to determine the best course of action. The top 8 ways to improve the health of your skinThere are a variety of different lifestyle changes you can make that will have a positive effect on your skin and overall health:
Eat an organic, nutrient dense diet. A healthy diet full of the nutrients and antioxidants your body needs will help to bring back a youthful radiant glow to your skin.
Reduce your stress. Meditation is a great way to reduce stress [4], and it can directly increase your skin resistance. You could also try supplementing with our 5 HTP, Serenity Anti-Stress Support, Saffron Pure Extract OR Organic Ashwagandha with Black Pepper supplements.
Keep your skin hydrated and moisturized. In doing so, your skin will retain elasticity and will not break as easily. You can keep your skin hydrated by drinking at least 6-8 cups of water a day, and by applying natural oils and moisturizers.
Don’t get too wet! There are many household chores that cause our skin (especially our hands) to get too wet for prolonged periods of time. A classic example of this is washing up - wear gloves! You should also wear gloves when handling any chemicals or products that aren’t designed to go on our skin. This is because your skin will absorb the product, such as a cleaning spray, and that will have a negative impact on your liver trying to rid your body of the chemicals, as well as causing rashes (contact dermatitis)
Quit smoking. Smoking is packed full of nasty chemicals that do our bodies no good. Nicotine (a chemical found in cigarettes and vapes) contributes and advances premature aging of the skin. It also constricts your blood vessels, which hinders your blood's ability to flow and carry vital nutrients to your skin [5].
Don’t pop your pimples or pick at scabs. When pores on your skin become clogged with excess oil and dead skin cells it can leave them vulnerable to infection by external bacteria and a pimple will form. This is your body's natural way of dealing with the bacteria, so leave it alone!Picking at pimples or scabs will leave blemishes (little scars) that will mark your skin, sometimes permanently!
Underlying conditions. Rashes, discoloration and jaundice are all examples of underlying conditions that can show up in your skin, and it’s best to consult a physician as soon as possible.
Support your skin with the nourishing nutrients and minerals it needs:
Vitamin C - Vitamin C can’t be produced by the human body. We are one of the only mammals that can’t make its own. However, it’s an extremely important nutrient with many impressive health benefits. One of those benefits, that has been studied heavily, is the positive effects it has on our skin and collagen production [6]. Because it can help to boost collagen production, this may improve the tightness of skin.Vitamin C is moisturizing and can help in the treatment of acne [7]. It can also inhibit the production of melanin (melanin is a pigment that makes skin darker) [8] which can help dark spots to fade and give your skin an overall brightening.Vitamin C is also a powerful antioxidant and can act as an anti-inflammatory agent which can help to reduce puffiness in skin, as well as applying a soothing effect [9]. Its antioxidant activity also helps to protect your skin from the sun and its harmful UV radiation. It’s also believed that vitamin C can help relieve the darkness of bags under your eyes, as shown in a study evaluating the efficacy of 3 treatments (including vitamin C) [10].Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera). Aloe vera has moisturizing and anti-aging properties [11] and is very effective at soothing burns [12], can help to reduce acne [13] and also has an antiseptic effect.Methylsulfonylmethane. Also known as MSM, Methylsulfonylmethane can strengthen keratin to help improve skin health. It can also help by reducing inflammation and helping to prevent wrinkles and other forms of premature aging in the skin [14].Hamamelis Virginiana. Commonly goes by the name of witch hazel, this plant can help to reduce inflammation with its powerful anti-inflammatory properties [15].Witch hazel has been shown to help reduce skin inflammation and relieve facial skin irritation [16].Kosher Vegetable Glycerin. Glycerin has become extremely popular in skin products, because it possesses powerful moisturizing effects [17]. It can also provide a barrier to protect your skin from cold and windy weather [18], as well as helping to ease irritation and soothe your skin.Simmondsia Chinensis. Also known as Jojoba Oil - it’s waxy in nature and can create a soothing layer on the surface of your skin to help ease irritation. This layer of oil on your skin will also help to regulate sebum production in your facial hair follicles.Jojoba oil also contains vitamin E, which is a powerful antioxidant. A study found that applying antioxidants to skin helped to improve the synthesis of collagen [19].Introducing Feel Younger® 100% Radiant Vitamin C Skin Serum with Hyaluronic Acid 2oz
By combining the ingredients listed above into an easy to apply skin serum - we’ve taken the stress out of researching and buying each of these ingredients separately, and then trying to mix them together into a “beard formula” you can use daily. Here at Feel younger, we believe in providing top quality products at reasonable prices and use only the best ingredients we can get our hands on.As well as the ingredients above, we’ve also added the following to our skin serum:Deionized Water, Cassia Angustifolia Seed Polysaccharide, Carbomer, (2s)-2-Amino-5, Guanidinopentanoic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Ethyl Hexyl Glycerin, d-alpha Tocopheryl Acetate (vitamin E), Centella Asiatica, Equisetum Arvense, Pelargonium Graveolens and Taraxacum Offinale to further enhance the effects. How Do You Use Feel Younger® Radiant Vitamin C Skin Serum with Hyaluronic Acid 2ozWash and pat your skin dry before use.Apply a small amount to freshly cleansed and toned face, neck and decollete areas, avoiding direct contact with eyes.Give the serum some time to absorb before you use any other products on your skin.Any Cautions?Although extremely rare, the combination of ingredients found in this product may cause skin irritation or rashes. Always test on a small area of skin before first use to confirm that no allergies occur, as with all skin products. For external use only.KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.ALWAYS consult a healthcare professional before using any new products.

Joint pain relief
What is Resveratrol and where does it come from?Resveratrol is a small polyphenol found in the skin of grapes, which it naturally produces to defend against parasites and toxins [1].Polyphenols are a type of compound found in plants that can offer a variety of health benefits.Regular consumption of polyphenols is thought to boost brain health, heart health, digestion and help regulate blood sugar levels.Polyphenols, which are a type of color pigment created by plants, act as antioxidants, which means they can help neutralize free radicals that damage your body’s cells [2].Resveratrol can also be found in peanuts, soy, various berries, Itadori tea (made from Japanese Knotweed) and is particularly abundant in red wine. How was Resveratrol Discovered?Resveratrol was first isolated in 1939 by Takaoka from Veratrum grandiflorum O. Loes.Since its discovery and almost 60 years later, the small polyphenol has undergone huge scientific interest, especially due to the work of Dr David Sinclair, a Harvard Scientist focused on anti aging technologies.Appearing in over 20,000 research papers, Resveratrol has inspired conferences, chemical derivatives, patents and more.Resveratrol has been used traditionally to help treat inflammation of the skin, UTI’s, stomach aches and fungal infections.Resveratrol is believed to have various potential health benefits, some of which are:
Improved heart health by lowering LDL (bad) cholesterol [3]
Lowering blood pressure [4] and so supporting the vascular system
Antioxidant properties [5]
Anti-inflammatory properties [6]
People mainly use Resveratrol for: Improved Heart HealthLowering bad cholesterol (LDL) levels that are too high helps lessen the chance of developing heart problems.A study on mice suggested that resveratrol reduced diet induced LDL cholesterol levels and slowed the rate of atherosclerosis progression [7].Because of resveratrol’s antioxidant properties, it may help to lower blood pressure.A review found that resveratrol may help to lower blood pressure, which in turn reduces the pressure on artery walls when the heart beats [8].Anti-Aging PropertiesMany studies have been conducted on Resveratrol and its anti-aging effects, including by top researchers in Harvard. The main 2 ways that Resveratrol helps with the aging process, is through reducing oxidative stress [9] and increasing the length of telomeres [10].In short, telomeres are segments of DNA that can be found at the ends of chromosomes. As we age, the length of our telomeres shorten. Progressive telomere shortening leads to apoptosis (programmed cell death), senescence (loss of a cell’s power of division and growth) and the oncogenic transformation of somatic cells (genetic and epigenetic alterations that affect survival and cell proliferation) [11].These three things have been associated with shorter telomeres and affect the health and lifespan of a person. They also increase the incidence of disease and lower survival time.A study on mice showed the positive effects of Resveratrol on aging, and how it dramatically improved telomerase activity, telomere length, the quality and number of oocytes, and age-related gene expression in the ovaries of mice [12].Why Try Feel Younger® Resveratrol 600mg Telomere Support? Our Resveratrol Telomere Support is high quality, high purity, gluten free, all natural, sugar free, vegan and vegetarian friendly, hormone free, lactose free and contains no nasty fillers or binders. We’ve taken the stress out of powder form supplements by producing our resveratrol into easy to swallow capsules. How do you take Feel Younger® Resveratrol 600mg?Take one capsule twice a day, preferably 20-30 minutes before a meal.Any cautions?Resveratrol has been shown to stop blood clotting in test tubes, so do not take in conjunction with anti blood clotting medications.Because resveratrol can potentially lower blood pressure, do not take alongside other blood pressure lowering medications.ALWAYS consult a healthcare professional before taking any new supplements.

What is Saffron and where does it come from?Saffron (Kesar or Za’faran), is a spice obtained from the Crocus sativus plant and is often referred to as the Golden Spice, due to its high cost and yellow color. Saffron is used for its medicinal properties, as well as a seasoning in food and as a coloring agent for over 4 millennia. Over 90% of the world’s saffron supply comes from Iran [1].The Crocus sativus flower consists of thread-like, crimson-colored structures known as stigmas. It is these stigmas that are collected and dried to create the spice Saffron [2].Saffron is made up of a variety of chemical compounds that give rise to its taste, color and health benefits.Traditional UseSaffron tinctures and extracts have been used for centuries in traditional medicine [3].Some of these uses have been, eupeptic, emmenagogue, carminative, expectorant, antispasmodic, stomachic, sedative, stimulant, diaphoretic, and aphrodisiac. In ancient Egypt, saffron was believed to be used as treatment for various ailments. How does it work? The impressive chemical components of saffron are responsible for its medicinal properties.Saffron helps increase levels of proteins required for blood flow, healthy brain activity such as BDNF, VEGF, and phosphorylated CREB [4] and development. It also acts as an antioxidant by picking up free radicals that can cause damage to proteins and DNA in cells. Saffron inhibits the buildup of the amyloid-beta protein, which is the main cause of Alzheimer’s disease [5].Saffron also inhibits the enzyme acetylcholinesterase, which raises the levels of acetylcholine in blood [6].Saffron mediates a lot of its therapeutic effects through crocin, which is converted to crocetin in the body, so it is more easily absorbed [7].Crocetin is thought to increase serotonin levels in the brain, which might explain Saffron's mood enhancing effects [8].Safranal is another of the main chemicals in saffron which [9]:
Helps stimulate beta 2 receptors: Adrenergic receptors that increase blood flow and heart rate. Stimulation mimics the effects of noradrenaline and adrenaline.
Inhibits histamine 1 receptors: Blocks the activity of histamine.
Stimulates GABAa receptors: Mimics GABA, further increasing the brain-protective effects.
Saffron also seems to have antiviral effects, which work by preventing the virus entry into cells and helps stop duplication [10].Additionally, Saffron can help with:
Weight management by slowing down fat absorption and digestion, reducing calorie intake by lowering appetite [11], and improving glucose and fat utilization for energy
Improving libido by acting as an aphrodisiac [12]
People mainly use Saffron to: Lower Appetite & Manage WeightResearch has shown that saffron may help curb your appetite by preventing snacking.Women taking saffron supplements in an 8-week study snacked less frequently, lost significantly more weight than women in the placebo group and felt more full [13].In another 8-week study, saffron extract supplementation seemed to remarkably help reduce BMI, waist circumference, appetite and waist circumference [14].Elevate MoodSaffron extract may support elevated mood and mental health by increasing levels of norepinephrine and dopamine [15].Saffron contains crocin, which the body converts to crocetin. Crocetin is thought to increase serotonin levels in the brain [16] . A study that was conducted on 73 18-60 year olds who self-reported feelings of anxiety and/or stress and daily low mood showed that Saffron had a positive effect on their moods [17].Why Try Feel Younger® Saffron Pure Extract 88.5mg?Our Saffron Pure Extract capsules are high quality, high purity, all natural, vegan and vegetarian friendly, lactose free and do not contain any nasty binders. How do you take it?For best results, take one capsule twice a day 20-30 minutes before a meal.Any cautions?Should not be taken by pregnant or breastfeeding women.Although side effects are seldom seen with saffron supplementation, minor discomfort such as dry mouth, dizziness, nausea and headaches may occur. Some people may also show allergic reactions to the carotenoids found in saffron.ALWAYS consult a healthcare professional before taking any new supplements.

What is Sea Moss?Sea Moss is an edible seaweed scientifically known as Chondrus crispus. It grows in waters on the rocky Atlantic coasts and is most commonly found between Europe and North America [1].Sea moss grows in a variety of colors, with numerous different shades of green, purple, red, brown, black, yellow and purple [2] - the most common being red which is commonly referred to as Irish Moss.Sea moss is a great source of iodine which is necessary to maintain a healthy thyroid [3].Sea moss (and other red seaweeds) are rich in antioxidants - compounds that help to protect your cells from oxidative damage [4].How was Sea Moss traditionally used?Irish moss was used as a “poverty food” during the Irish Potato Famine (1846-1848) because it’s particularly nutrient-dense.The strong association of Irish Moss with this particularly difficult time is one of the reasons that Sea Moss was largely ignored for many years after.Traditionally, Irish Moss was used as a cold remedy, and has also been recorded as far back as 1810 for respiratory ailments. It was also once used in the widespread treatment of pneumonia and tuberculosis. The Irish Moss health benefits were well known to the natives of Ireland, a long time before it was given a “Superfood” status.Ancient Irish tradition states that Irish Moss was carried for safety and protection and was also placed under rugs mainly for luck and wealth. In Venezuela it has been boiled in milk and served with honey for generations as a remedy to help ease chest infections and sore throats. How does Sea Moss help you?People use sea moss for its many health benefits. Sea moss is a fantastic source of minerals and vitamins - it contains 92 of the 102 minerals that the human body needs to function properly, as well as antioxidants that may benefit overall health.Seaweeds (especially brown) also contain sulfated polysaccharides, which are believed to have a myriad of health benefits [5].Some of the main potential benefits of using sea moss may include [6]:
Sea Moss is rich in iodine, a micronutrient necessary for healthy thyroid function [7]
A study on salmon found that seaweed supplementation helped to improve immune response and modulation [8]. Sea Moss is rich in antioxidants and immune-boosting nutrients, such as magnesium, phosphorus, zinc and iron.
A study on rats found that a compound in seaweeds called fucoxanthin promoted fat metabolism [9].
Another study on pigs found that a different compound in seaweed, called alginate, seemed to prevent blood sugar spikes in pigs [10].
Other studies have also found seaweed to reduce bad (LDL) cholesterol while acting as a blood thinner, which may help reduce the risk of heart problems [11].
Irish Moss is also a great source of potassium chloride which has both anti-inflammatory and expectorant properties. Potassium chloride also has antiviral and antimicrobial agents, which can help you drain mucus from your body
Sea Moss (and other seaweeds) are one of the best plant sources of omega-3 fatty acids which are essential for health - especially the heart & cardiovascular system
What is Bladderwrack?Bladderwrack, scientifically known as Fucus vesiculosus [12], is another type of seaweed (brown in color) and mainly grows along the coastlines of the North and Baltic Seas, Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and can also be found in various waters in the US & Canada [13].Rich in vitamins, minerals, such as calcium, iodine, magnesium, potassium, sodium, zinc, and vitamins A and C [14] and antioxidants, many people believe that bladderwrack’s impressive nutrient profile can give many health benefits.Historically, those who lived near the sea had relatively low rates of thyroid problems, due to their iodine rich diet, which included seaweeds.2000 years ago, Greek Physician Dioscorides mentioned Bladderwrack in his “De Materia Medica”, where he recommended it for inflammation and “gouty afflictions”.Traditional medicinal practices have used it for centuries to treat an array of conditions, such as iodine deficiency, obesity, joint pain, aging skin, digestive issues, urinary tract infection, and thyroid dysfunction. In the early 1800’s. Bladderwrack was found to have a high iodine content and became widely used as treatment for goiter (a swollen neck because of large thyroid glands).By the 1860’s, Bladderwrack was also being used to counteract obesity by speeding up metabolism. Why is Bladderwrack Beneficial?Bladderwrack contains Fucoidan - a complex sulfated polysaccharide.Fucoidan seems to possess many different potential health benefits such as:
Anti-Inflammatory
High levels of Iodine (vital for Thyroid health)
A two-phase study that featured a separate control group applied bladderwrack extract to skin samples which led to an increase in collagen production [15].
Bladderwrack also contains lots of phytochemicals - a compound found in plants that has health promoting benefits. Some of these include fucoxanthin and phlorotannins which may help lower oxidative stress [16]
What is Burdock Root?Burdock is scientifically known as Arctium lappa - a plant native to Europe and Asia. It now also grows in the United StatesResearchers have uncovered many potential health benefits of burdock root [17].Burdock Root’s potential health benefits were recorded in “The Compendium of Materia Medica” from the Ming Dynasty.Traditional Chinese medicine refers to it as‘Niubang” [18] and often used Burdock to help treat flu, cold and other chest and throat infections.Burdock Root has also been used traditionally for Gastrointestinal tract problems, kidney problems, gout, catarrh, infections, lymphatic system relief, fever, blood purification, skin problems, rheumatism, stomach issues, constipation, and fluid retention. In the 12th Century, Ancient herbalists such as Hildegard of Bingen recognized Burdock’s healing powers. Why use Burdock?Burdock has many potential health benefits that stem from its anti-inflammatory, diabetic support, and microbe-fighting properties [19].The lignans and flavonoids found in burdock root are believed to be responsible for many of the potential health benefits [20]:
Burdock might be beneficial for people with diabetes by stimulating insulin production, while lowering leptin. Leptin is commonly thought to help trigger weight loss… However, Leptin is actually high in people with obesity, who often become leptin resistant. In such cases, lowering leptin is good [21].
Burdock root is also thought to block the enzyme that breaks down elastin, the protein that gives the skin elasticity [22].

What causes stress, and why is it important to lower your stress levels?Have you ever met someone who doesn’t experience much stress? It’s pretty rare. While certain types of stress are good (eustress), usually intense and brief stresses like exercise, a cold shower or getting outside your comfort zone every now and then, long term, chronic stress (distress) has been proven to be a significant factor in creating a large variety of health problems. There are different categories of Stress:
Mental Stress, like anxious thoughts and worrying about the past or future
Chemical Stresses, like toxins and infections
Emotional Stresses, like Anger and Sadness, or traumas
And Physical Stresses, like Hunger, Cold, Exhaustion etc
All of these are, to some degree, ‘normal’, and yet any of these stresses, once excessive, can cause significant and debilitating levels of suffering (distress), which can lead to health issues sooner or later.Any of the above stimuli can lead to being in a state of stress, which is where your fight or flight response activates your adrenal glands to release a cocktail of Neurochemicals into your body to help cope with the situation. Adrenaline, Noradrenaline and Cortisol are the 3 main Neurochemicals that are released.Adrenaline and Noradrenaline increase your heart rate, bring more blood flow into the muscles and lungs, give you a surge of energy and raise your blood pressure.Cortisol increases glucose levels in your blood, activates your brain to use more glucose and makes the substances that repair tissues more readily available in your body. All of this response is Good and Healthy, IF it is temporary (a few hours at most) and occasional (not every day). When you’re stressed, you can feel:
Angry, irritable or uptight
Overwhelmed
Unable to focus
Anxious and Worried
Afraid
If the Stress is Extreme enough, or Chronic enough, or both, you can go into another mode called the Dorsal Vagal Mode. In this state, the body has decided it is not worth fighting anymore, and the best strategy is to conserve energy and ‘play dead.’In this case, heart rate and blood pressure can go down, respiration decreases, energy production and metabolism decreases, and the person experiences very little energy or motivation, due to downregulation of Dopamine. This is often described as being depressed [1].In either case, whether you stay Chronically in a high stress state, or a Depressed state, or vacillation between the two, Prolonged exposure to these stress states can lead to many health problems, such as:
High or Low Blood Pressure
Heart problems
Obesity
Blood Sugar Dysregulation
Skin Conditions
Digestive Problems
Allergies and Intolerances
Exhaustion
Trouble sleeping
Headaches and dizziness
Uncontrollable muscle tension, such as the clenching of your jaw
Aches and pains
Weakened immune system, often leading to repeated and/or chronic infections
Difficulties having desire for sex (women) or inability to have sex (men).
Panic attacks
Can You Test For Stress? The best test for Stress is a 24 hour Saliva Cortisol Test, preferably with DHEA included. This gives you a snapshot of how much stress you are experiencing throughout the day, and can also give some clues as to whether the stress has been long term, and how depleted you are from it, if at all.The Top 8 Ways to Lower Your Stress Levels:Although there are situations that are out of your control that cause stress, the one thing you can learn to have control over is your emotional response to those situations. In other words, Stress is not something that happens to you, it’s your response to what happens to you. However, the stress response is largely automatic, so the only way to change how much situations ’stress you out’ is to retrain your nervous system to respond to situations in a more optimal way.Until recently, mainstream science believed that our ability to change our stress response was limited, but Wim Hof helped prove that we can control our response to even the most extreme stresses, proving his point by breaking dozens of world records and helping seemingly anyone who trained under him to completely change their stress response, e.g. by showing them how to climb to the top of Mount Everest unassisted wearing very little clothing! On a more practical, everyday level, there’s a variety of lifestyle changes you can make to help lower your stress levels, such as:
Meditating. Studies have shown the positive impacts of meditation on stress levels [2]. This is traditionally used for lowering mental stress particularly, and is also great for lowering emotional stress.
Eat a healthy organic diet. The negative effects of stress on your body can be lessened by eating a healthier, organic diet [3]. This reduces your Chemical Stress load.
Do breathing exercises [4] which can lower your heart rate, blood pressure and reduce anxiety. There are many out there to try. This is traditionally used for lowering emotional stress particularly.
Exercise regularly. Physical activity is a great way to have temporary physical stress which then actually lowers your overall stress and clears your mind [5].
Talk to someone about your problems. Simply “getting it off your chest” is a great way to reduce the pressure and stress you feel. Great for mental and emotional stress.
Stay social. All humans are, to some degree, social beings, and social isolation has been proven to increase stress levels [6]. Make sure you interact with people who do not consistently increase your emotional and mental stress!
Take some time off work. Whether that be a holiday, or giving yourself 2 days off a week - time off work where you can think about nothing and totally relax is essential to lower your stress.
Support your body with nutrients and minerals that will help you to be more relaxed, and lower your stress levels:
Calcium. Extreme fatigue can be caused by calcium deficiency, which can lead to insomnia [7]. Insomnia can lead to feeling worried, which in turn makes the insomnia worse! When we are sleep deprived, we are more susceptible to stress [8].B-Complex Vitamins. B vitamins, such as thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pyridoxine, biotin, d-calcium and pantothenate play crucial roles in mood regulation [9].Plus, the more stress we experience, the more B Vitamins we use. And then when we get low in B Vitamins we are less resilient to stress. Another vicious circle! Break the cycle with extra B Vitamins.Magnesium. Research suggests that being deficient in magnesium can increase your susceptibility to stress and anxiety [10], which causes further magnesium loss, and more stress [11].Zinc. Over time, zinc supplementation [12] can help to stabilize cortisol levels and raise your mood [13].Potassium. Studies have shown that potassium plays an important role in helping to regulate blood pressure [14].GABA. GABA (gamma aminobutyric acid) is an amino acid that naturally occurs in the body. It works as a neurotransmitter in the brain by attaching to GABA receptors (a protein in the brain) to produce a calming effect. As such, it can help reduce anxiety, stress and fear and also help with sleep [15].Lemon Balm. Lemon balm can help to reduce anxiety and symptoms of stress which helps you to relax more easily [16].A study showed that laboratory-induced psychological stress was eased when taking lemon balm and those who took the lemon balm self reported increased calmness and alertness [17].Passionflower. Passionflower (P. incarnata) is a herb that is thought to help lessen symptoms of insomnia [18] and reduce anxiety [19].It potentially does this by boosting the levels of GABA in your brain.Oat Straw. Oat straw has been used traditionally as a natural remedy to help relieve anxiety, depression and stress [20].It is thought to do this by inhibiting PDE4 (enzyme phosphodiesterase type 4), which in doing so could help relieve stress and anxiety [21].Introducing Feel Younger® Serenity Anti-Stress SupportWe understand that it’s not always easy, nor practical to implement a variety of lifestyle changes - especially all at once. We’d advise that you make as many of those changes as possible, but do so 1 or 2 at a time, make sure they stick and then move onto more.In the meantime, you can support your body with the essential nutrients and minerals it needs that can help lower your stress levels. That’s why in addition to the ingredients listed above, we’ve added the following ingredients to our Serenity Anti-Stress Support formula:
Rhodiola Extract - can help to reduce anxieties and combat depress [22]
Lutein - in mice, potentially helped to combat depression by protecting nerves in the hippocampus (a part of the brain responsible for emotions and memory) [23]
Ashwagandha - has been used for centuries as a tonic to help calm nerves. In two studies ashwagandha was shown to improve stress and happiness, while reducing cortisol levels [24]
Chamomile - A study on long-term ingestion of chamomile showed it reduced anxiety [25]
Skullcap - a study showed those who took skullcap daily for 2 weeks reported better mood compared to the placebo group [26]
Hawthorn - is thought to potentially help reduce anxiety [27] and has been used traditionally in chinese medicine to help lower blood pressure [28]
Bacopa - considered an adaptogenic herb (helps the body to adapt to stress), a study on rodents showed bacopa to have anti-anxiety effects similar to certain prescription medications [29]
Magnolia - contains neolignans (a type of polyphenol found in plants) that is believed to have many health benefits, one of which is helping with anxiety [30]
Valerian - A study on hemodialysis patients showed valerian significantly improved anxiety, stress and mood compared to a placebo [31]
L-Theanine - A review on people in experiencing stressful situations found that 4 of the 5 trials showed L-theanine to reduce stress and anxiety [32]
Mucuna Pruriens - can help boost dopamine levels (the ‘feel good’ hormone) [33]
St John’s Wort - has ingredients that appear to help regulate and elevate mood by increasing dopamine, noradrenaline, serotonin and other chemical messengers in the brain [34]
Hops - over a 4 week period, hops appeared to improve self reported symptoms of at least mid anxiety, stress and depression [35]
5 HTP - the precursor to serotonin. Having low serotonin levels can be associated with sleeping problems, anxiety, depression and more [36]
By combining the ingredients listed on this page into an easy to swallow capsule, we’ve taken the stress out of buying each of these ingredients separately, researching and experimenting how much of each you should take and then incorporating them into your diet/supplement regime. How Do You Take Feel Younger® Serenity Anti-Stress Support? For best results, take 2 capsules once a day with a glass of water, 20-30 minutes before a meal.Any Cautions?ALWAYS consult a healthcare professional before taking any new supplements.

Why is it important to get enough ‘good quality’ sleep? In a world where we are more ‘busy’ than ever - with work, chores, children, relationships and many more aspects of our lives - it’s no surprise that sleep has fallen down the list of priorities for a lot of people. But, for most adults, 7-8 hours sleep is necessary in order to wake up feeling energized and focused for the busy day ahead. There are many reasons why getting enough good quality sleep every night is so important:
Allows our brain and body to rest, which means we will wake up feeling energized and focused [1]
Gives the brain time to process new information that we have learnt throughout the day [2]
Enables muscle tissue repair [3]
Maintaining healthy weight [4]
Regulating blood sugar levels [5]
Maintaining good overall health [6]
In contrast, not getting enough sleep, or getting poor quality disrupted sleep, can have adverse effects on your health, energy and mental cognition, both in the short term, and the long term.Poor sleep has been linked to:
Heightened stress response [7]
Increased or more persistent pain [8]
Depression [9]
Anxiety [10]
Cognition, memory and performance deficits [11]
What contributes to not getting enough sleep, or having poor quality sleep? There are many environmental and physiological factors that can contribute to poor sleep:
Irregular sleep schedule
Stress
Physical pain
Certain Medications
Age
Fidgeting or snoring sleeping partners (people/pets you share a bedroom with)
The foods you eat, especially just before bed
Drinking alcohol and/or Caffeine
Not seeing enough natural bright light early in the dayBrain stimulation and blue light screens before bed (electronic devices, video games, computer screens etc.)
Napping late in the afternoon/evening
Using your bed for activities other than sleep (watching tv, playing video games, electronic devices, working etc.)
How can you Test how well you sleep? The simplest indicator is how rested and energized you feel when you wake up. Any feeling of grogginess should be very short lived. If you do have issues getting to sleep, staying asleep, or waking feeling refreshed, you may want to further investigate why.A sleep study, or polysomnography, is a test that can be used to help diagnose sleeping disorders.Polysomnography works by measuring your brain waves, oxygen levels in your blood, breathing and heart rate. It will also measure your leg and eye movements.Typically a polysomnography is conducted at a hospital or sleep center, so you may want to try the below guide first to see if these simple lifestyle changes are sufficient to make you feel rested again…The Top 12 Ways to get better quality sleep and more of it:As we’ve outlined further up this page, it’s absolutely essential that you get enough uninterrupted sleep (7-8 hours for the average adult) in order to wake up feeling energized and focused for the day. Here’s the top 12 ways you can do that:
Stick to a sleeping routine. When it comes to sleep - routine is everything. Consistently sleeping and waking at the same time can aid to enhanced long-term sleep quality [12]
Reduce your stress. When your body is in a state of stress (fight or flight mode) the adrenal glands are activated [13]. Historically, this is so we had the energy to run from predators, which was not a time for sleeping. There are many ways to lower your stress levels, such as meditation. You can also try supplementing with our Serenity Anti-Stress Support or 5 HTP products
Find the best position to sleep in for your physical pain. Unfortunately, this is not an easy one to solve… However, we live in a world where every type of information is at your fingertips. Try searching something along the lines of:“Best position to sleep in for back pain”
Kick your pet or partner out of your bed. Again, not an easy one to solve. You may love sleeping with your partner, or your pet! But the truth is, if you’re being woken up numerous times a night because of their snoring or moving around… it could be time for them (or you) to hit the spare room!
Don’t drink too much alcohol. Excessive alcohol drinking disrupts sleep-related physiology [14]
Don’t eat too close to bedtime. Eating should generally stop at least 2 hours before you go to sleep. If you go to bed sooner than 2 hours after you eat, your body is using valuable energy in your sleep to digest and metabolize the food. This is valuable energy that could be used to help repair damaged tissues in your body, as well as lessening the time your brain and body have to rest and properly re-energize.
Avoid certain foods before bed. Without going into too much detail, here are some foods you should steer clear of before you go to bed (as well as remembering the 2+ hour rule we mentioned in the previous step):
Fried, fatty & ‘heavy’ foods, such as burgers, fries and steaks. These types of food can lay heavy in your stomach and cause indigestion, which will keep you up at night or make it harder to fall asleep.
High water content such as cucumber & watermelon. Eating foods with a high water content before bed will likely get you up in the middle of the night to go pee!
Caffeine. Espresso ice cream, chocolate, coffee, certain types of tea are a few examples of foods that contain caffeine. Caffeine is a stimulant, and can make it more difficult for you to get to the deeper stages of sleep that are crucial to waking up energized and focused. This is also true, to a lesser degree, about chocolate.
Sugary Foods. Insulin spikes can disrupt your sleeping patterns, so it’s best to skip dessert if it’s close to bedtime.
Tyramine. Found in processed meats, nuts, red wine, cheese and more - tyramine is an amino acid that triggers the release of norepinephrine (noradrenaline) which stimulates the body and plays a crucial part in the fight or flight state of the body, thus preventing you from falling asleep!
Spice. Even if you love the heat, spicy foods stimulate circulation and raise your body’s temperature. Spicy foods can also cause heartburn, coupled with being too hot - you have a recipe for insomnia (finding it hard to fall asleep, waking up several times during the night and feeling tired throughout the day).
Acidic Foods. Raw onions, white wine, citrusy drinks or sauces and more can induce heartburn (acid reflux).
“Gassy” foods. Think beans and brussels sprouts. While there’s no doubt that fruit and vegetables high in fiber are good for the body - cramping at night due to excess gas is going to keep you awake, so you should avoid them before bed.
Avoid Blue Light at least 1 hour before bed. Blue light exposure suppresses the secretion of melatonin (the hormone that makes you sleepy). This is true for any lights, blue light does this more effectively [15].
Any electronic device you own emits blue light - your tv, laptop, computer monitor, cell phone, smart tablet, smart watch, LED lighting and more…In an ideal world, you’d sit in a lightly candlelit room staring at the wall until you feel tired, then you’d go to bed… However, we appreciate this probably isn’t going to happen. On most electronic devices (especially tablets, computers and cell phones) there is a setting that will cut out some blue light. The mode is usually called night light, eye comfort shield, or something along those lines. It will tint the screen with a yellow hue, removing most of the blue light your device is emitting. You’ll also be able to change the strength, so the more yellow your screen looks, the more blue light you’re cutting out.We recommend using this mode at least 2 hours before you go to bed.You can also buy tinted glasses (search “bluelight glasses”) that have the same effect, although you won’t be able to control the strength like you can on your device.
Turn the lights down low. In addition to the above point, turning the “big light” off in your living room, and turning all other lights down low will help with melatonin secretion.
Don’t watch TV or work in bed. When you do other activities in your bed (other than sleeping) your brain associates that activity with your bed. This means that if you frequently work from your bed, your brain will switch into work mode (stress/fight or flight mode) and will hinder your sleeping efforts.
Don’t sleep in to accommodate a late night. Instead, get up at your regular time so your body doesn’t lose its rhythm, and take an early afternoon (not late afternoon) nap if necessary.
Help your body sleep easier by supplying it with vital nutrients and minerals it needs to sleep well, such as:
MelatoninFirst discovered by Aaron Lerner (a dermatologist) in 1958, melatonin has been studied heavily since.Lerner isolated a compound in the pineal gland of a cow, which he named melatonin. He then began to study the effect of melatonin on sleep by self experimenting with very large doses of melatonin, to which he reported no side effects other than drowsiness.Naturally produced in the pineal gland in your brain [16], melatonin helps to regulate the circadian rhythm in your body (sleep-wake cycle) [17].When it starts to get dark, your melatonin levels rise, which is how your body knows it’s time to go to sleep. When it gets light, melatonin levels decrease to help you wake up [18].Blue light exposure at night interrupts sleep because melatonin levels are dramatically decreased [19], however being in darkness only permits melatonin production, as opposed to stimulating it [20].Today, melatonin is one of the most popular supplements in sleep aid because it is a natural treatment for sleeping disorders such as insomnia [21].Rather than “putting” you to sleep, like a lot of over the counter drugs, melatonin lets your body recognise it’s nighttime and helps you relax and fall asleep more easily.Additionally, melatonin attaches to receptors throughout your body and helps them to relax [22].A review of 11 studies showed melatonin to decrease the time it took to fall asleep, as well as increasing total sleep time compared to a placebo [23].Jet lag is a temporary sleeping disorder, caused by your body’s circadian rhythm being out of sync with the new timezone you’ve just arrived in.An analysis of various studies saw that melatonin was likely to help reduce the effects of jet lag [24].CalciumExtreme fatigue can be caused by calcium deficiency, which can lead to insomnia [25].Low levels of calcium can also cause low mood, and sleeping disorders are a core symptom of low mood [26].Studies conducted on women suffering from PMS claimed that calcium can help to relieve symptoms of low mood, anxiety, water retention and fatigue [27].Vitamin B6This B vitamin plays a crucial role in regulating mood because it creates neurotransmitters that can regulate emotions, such as dopamine, GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) and serotonin [28].MagnesiumMagnesium helps to regulate many neurotransmitters that are involved in sleep, such as GABA [29].A review on insomnia sufferers saw that magnesium supplements helped to lower the time it took for older adults to fall asleep [30].A study on around 4,000 adults saw improvements in sleep duration and quality linked to magnesium intake [31].Furthermore, the hormones of stress can reduce magnesium levels in body tissues, which can result in chronic fatigue. Many hundreds of chronic fatigue syndrome patients were observed at a referral center, only to find that over half of the patients were deficient in magnesium [32].PassionflowerPassionflower (P. incarnata) has shown that it can potentially help relieve insomnia and anxiety by promoting GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) production in the brain. A trial had participants reporting an improvement in the quality of their sleep after drinking herbal tea with passionflower for seven days [33].Lemon BalmLemon balm can help to reduce anxiety and symptoms of stress which helps you to relax more easily [34].A double blind, randomized, placebo controlled study on 50 subjects with sleep complaints found that those who took a formula which included lemon balm, saw significant improvements on a modified Athens Insomnia Scale (mAIS) than those who took the placebo [35].ChamomileChamomiles' unique properties can benefit your sleep quality. It contains an antioxidant called apigenin which binds to certain receptors in the brain which may help to promote sleeping while combating insomnia [36].A study found people who ingested chamomile extract twice a day for 28 days reduced their night time awakening by ⅓ and fell asleep 15 minutes faster than those who took a placebo [37].Introducing Feel Younger® Sleep Aid Ultra with 10mg MelatoninWe understand that it’s not always easy, nor practical to implement a variety of lifestyle changes - especially all at once. We’d advise that you make as many of those changes as possible, but do so 1 or 2 at a time, make sure they stick and then move onto more.In the meantime, you can support your body with the essential nutrients and minerals it needs that can help you to get good quality sleep, and more of it.That’s why we’ve included the above ingredients in our Sleep Aid Ultra with Melatonin formula. We have mixed these with our unique proprietary blend that can help you sleep better and easier, and potentially give you a whole host of other benefits. Our proprietary blend is made up of:
L-Tryptophan - melatonin is produced by L-Tryptophan in the pineal gland (in the brain) as well as in the gut, the eyes and immune cells [38]
Goji (berry) - contain the highest concentration of melatonin than any other berry fruits [39]
Chamomile - can help improve sleep quality [40]
Lemon Balm - can help relieve restlessness and sleep disturbances [41]
Passion Flower - can help to calm your mind and improve quality of sleep [42]
L-Taurine - an amino acid that increases GABA and glycine to ease anxiety and calm the brain [43]
Hops - a study on drinking non-alcoholic beer (with hops) at dinnertime saw that the women who drank it showed an improvement in their sleep quality [44]
St John’s Wort - can help to regulate mood by increasing melatonin production [45]
GABA - has a natural calming effect on the brain [46]
Skullcap - contains a compound called Baicalin, which has been used in traditional medicine practices to help treat insomnia [47]. Can also help to improve mood and reduce anxiety [48]
L-Theanine - can help to promote relaxation and improve sleep [49]
Ashwagandha - can promote restful sleep and may help to reduce anxiety levels [50]
Inositol - can help to improve global sleep and subjective sleep quality, as well as sleep time during pregnancy [51]
5 HTP - the precursor to serotonin, which can be converted into melatonin. When mixed with GABA, potential effects on sleep promotion are enhanced [52]
By combining the ingredients listed further up this page, with our unique proprietary blend in an easy to swallow capsule, we’ve taken the stress out of buying each of these ingredients separately, researching and experimenting how much of each you should take and then incorporating them into your diet/supplement regime. How Do You Take Feel Younger® Sleep Aid Ultra with 10mg Melatonin?Take one capsule a day with a glass of water, 20 - 30 minutes before you want to go to bed.DO NOT EXCEED RECOMMENDED DOSAGE.Any Cautions?Do not take alongside other melatonin supplements or medications. Too much melatonin can cause nausea and dizziness.ALWAYS consult a healthcare professional before taking any new supplements.

What is Vitamin B12 and where does it come from?Known as cobalamin [1] and sometimes referred to as a “painkiller vitamin”, vitamin B12 cannot be produced by our bodies, but is essential for a variety of functions and processes.Primarily stored in the liver [2], vitamin b12 can be sourced from animal foods such as poultry, meat, fish, dairy products and eggs, as well as being available in supplement forms.Cobalamin is best known for the role it plays in cardiovascular support, energy metabolism and red blood cell & DNA production [3].Discovered at Merck & Co (pharmaceutical company) by Karl Folkeres (director of Merck research) cobalamin was first isolated by Folkers and his team in 1945 when they were able to produce bright red, tiny crystals of the vitamin.Once isolated, they tested the crystals on an anemic (not enough red blood cells in the body) patient, who made a full recovery.Scientists later discovered that vitamin B12 was an important growth factor for animals, which led to vitamin rich diets in farming and an increase in livestock yields. In the 1950s some countries also used cobalamin as a “Painkiller Vitamin” [4].How does it work? There are many benefits to taking vitamin B12, such as:
Preventing & helping with anemia. When you’re deficient in cobalamin your red blood cell count will be lower than normal (anemia) [5] because it’s needed in erythropoiesis (formation of red blood cells) [6].
Better bone health. B12 also plays a crucial part in DNA synthesis, providing strength and integrity to chromosomes. DNA is found in every cell in our bodies, including our bones [7].
Better energy levels. B vitamins play a crucial part in energy production in your body, and being deficient in B12 is likely to cause fatigue [8]. If you are deficient in B12, you’ll likely experience a surge of energy, taking you both to the days of your youth!
Improved mood. A study showed that severe depression was twice as likely in those who were deficient in vitamin B12 [9].
Improved brain function & cognition. Brain atrophy is caused by a loss of neurons and can lead to memory loss or degenerative problems, such as Alzheimer's. Being deficient in cobalamin has been linked to this loss of neurons [10].
Reduced risk of macular degeneration & heart problems. The macula is a part of the eye that helps to process what you are looking at. When optimal (or adequate) levels of cobalamin are present in the body, it keeps homocysteine (an amino acid in your blood) levels in check.
High homocysteine levels have been linked to an increased risk of macular degeneration [11] with age, and also increased risk of heart problems [12].Vitamin B2Otherwise known as riboflavin, vitamin B2 can help to prevent migraines, bone loss and cataracts, while improving mood and helping to boost the immune system.First discovered in 1872 by Alexander Wynter Blyth (an English chemist) as a pigment in milk that was fluorescent [13], it wasn’t until the 1930’s that it was distinguished to be riboflavin. As with all vitamins, riboflavin cannot be made in the body, but can be found in foods like milk, yogurt, cheese, eggs, almonds, fortified cereals and spinach, as well as meats such as beef & pork organs, chicken and salmon.Studies have shown that an increased intake of riboflavin significantly decreases the risk of age related cataracts [14].Studies have also shown B2 to be effective in migraine prevention [15].Much like B12, even marginal deficiency in riboflavin has been linked with depression [16] and worse bone health [17]Vitamin B3Vitamin B3, or niacin, was first isolated in 1912 by Casimir Funk (Polish-American chemist) while he was actually trying to cure a disease caused by a deficiency of vitamin B1 (beriberi).Used in a variety of different processes throughout the body, niacin is essential for the heart, gut, brain, skin and much more.Niacin can help to improve cholesterol levels by increasing LDL (bad) cholesterol and decreasing HDL (bad cholesterol) [18].Vitamin B3 is extremely important for its role in obtaining energy from foods that you ingest [19].Vitamin B6First discovered in 1934, pyridoxine (vitamin B6) was first isolated in 1938 by Samuel Lepovsky at the University of California.Another B vitamin that plays crucial roles in many processes in the body - B6 can affect sleep, mood, mental health, inflammation, pain, digestion and more.Studies have shown that people with depression have low pyridoxine levels, and B6 can help to reduce anxiety for them [20].It can also help to increase melatonin (sleep hormone) secretion in the pineal gland, as shown in a study of 120 children [21].B6 is effective at significantly reducing symptoms of morning sickness [22].Vitamin B5Otherwise known as pantothenic acid - vitamin B5 was first discovered by Dr. R J Williams in 1933.Again, a B vitamin that is heavily involved in a variety of different bodily functions. From helping to convert food into energy, to being extremely important for the gastrointestinal, nervous and immune systems [23].A randomized, double blind, placebo-controlled study showed that vitamin B5 supplementation reduced acne after 12 weeks [24].What makes Feel Younger® Sublingual B Complex, Vitamin B12 1200mcg Drops different from other B Vitamin Products? As you can see, there are many benefits to taking the B vitamins we have listed above, and that’s why we decided to include them, along with a strong dose of B12 in our Sublingual B Complex B12 1200 mcg drops. But why use our Sublingual Vitamin B12 Formula with B Complex?Firstly, because our B Vitamin formula is sublingual (applied under the tongue), the nutrients that your body needs can enter your bloodstream directly, without having to go through your gastrointestinal tract. This means that the vitamins won’t be broken down by stomach acid, and they are released quickly into the body and you’ll feel the effects sooner, and with greater efficacy.Secondly, for this product we only use the best, most expensive, and most highly absorbed forms of B Vitamins, which are most easily assimilated by the body, but which unfortunately most supplement manufacturers don’t use, as they cost significantly more than the cheaper, less well absorbed versions. For instance, for Vitamin B12, we use Methylcobalamin, which is the most bioavailable form of cobalamin. It is also the natural form of B12, as opposed to cyanocobalamin, which is a synthetic form of B12 made in a lab and needs to be converted to methylcobalamin in the body - taking up valuable energy from other bodily processes. For Riboflavin, we use Riboflavin 5 Phosphate, which is a more bioavailable form of B2 - meaning it is more easily absorbed and available for your body to use, and therefore its effect is more powerful than taking standard riboflavin. Our Sublingual B Complex uses niacinamide, because this form of niacin is safer, as it doesn’t give you the ‘Flush’ that the other forms of Niacin do…which many people find unpleasant. Our B5 - D-calcium pantothenic acid is a more stable form of B5 which is easily broken down by the body into pantothenic acid.Thirdly, this formula is also antibiotic free, gluten free, sugar free, vegan and vegetarian friendly, corn free, hormone free, lactose free and contains no nasty binders. How Do You Take Feel Younger® Sublingual B Complex, Vitamin B12 1200mcg DropsShake well before using.Place 1 ml (full dropper) under your tongue and hold for 20 seconds before swallowing.Any Cautions? In very rare cases, people may experience headaches, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue or weakness or a tingling sensation in the hands and feet. Not intended for use by people under the age of 18 years old.ALWAYS consult a healthcare professional before taking any new supplements.

What is Tea Tree Oil and where does it come from?Tea Tree oil is made by the process of steam distillation of the leaves of the Australian Tea Tree, scientifically known as Melaleuca alternifolia. The tea tree can be found growing in the swamps on the southeast coastline of Australia [1].It’s best known for its powerful antimicrobial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties which can potentially help with a whole host of problems, from athlete’s foot, to acne.Story of Discovery & Traditional UseIn 1732, Captain James Cook first brought the attention of tea tree oil back to western society. It was named tea tree because of the refreshingly spicy tea he made from the leaves of the melaleuca alternifolia tree. For centuries, tea tree oil has been used traditionally by the Australian Aboriginal people. They extracted the oil that spills out of the tea tree leaves when crushed, and would inhale the fumes to help treat colds or coughs, as well as applying it topically to the skin for a variety of different healing reasons such as cuts, scrapes and swelling. It was also used to help soothe and cure sore throats. In around 1770, Captain James Cook learned more about the tea tree from the Aboriginal people of Australia, who told him all about their healing uses for this magical oil.Cook returned and was eager to have western doctors confirm tea trees' multifaceted healing abilities. Once confirmed, tea tree oil’s use skyrocketed and became a popular choice all over the world as an antimicrobial agent.Since then, people throughout the world have used tea tree oil to help treat a variety of different ailments. Mainly it is used for its antimicrobial properties, as well as its ability to help treat minor cuts, scrapes or injuries. What can Tea Tree Oil be used for?Tea Tree Oil has many uses when applied topically:
Contains terpinen-4-ol, amongst other compounds, which has been shown to be effective at killing types of fungi, viruses and bacteria [2], also making it an effective antiseptic for small cuts and grazes [3]
Numerous studies have shown tea tree oil can be an alternative treatment for athlete's foot (tinea pedis) [4]
Studies showed that adding tea tree oil to handwashes & hand sanitizers [5] made them more effective [6]
A study on 27 people showed that topical application of tea tree oil reduced swelling significantly [7]. It also reduced inflammation in mice [8]
A study on patients with acne, saw that a 5% tea tree oil solution saw an improvement in their acne, along with lessened symptoms of itching, dryness and scaling [9].
When added to shampoo, tea tree oil can help to control dandruff by slowing down the growth of Candida albicans [10]
Tea tree oil can help to trigger white blood cells that are needed to heal wounds, as well as reducing inflammation, resulting in boosted wound healing [11]
Tea tree oil can also be used as a chemical free mouthwash and can combat germs that lead to bad breath and tooth decay [12]
Antifungal, Antiviral & Anti-inflammatory PropertiesTea tree oil is most commonly used for a variety of different fungal infections, from fingernails to Athlete’s Foot.Athlete's foot is an extremely irritating fungal infection that mainly develops in between the toes and is highly contagious. It can also spread to other parts of the feet, as well as the hands. The infection causes severe itching and redness, and can even cause peeling, cracking and blistering of the skin.Studies have shown that tea tree oil can be effective at helping to relieve symptoms of athlete’s foot because of its powerful antifungal properties [13].A review on the oil’s ability to kill fungi and yeasts highlighted it as being effective [14].Why Try Feel Younger® Tea Tree Essential Oil 60ml?Here at Feel Younger, we believe in providing the best quality ingredients at reasonable prices… which is why Our Tea Tree Essential Oil is 100% pure and our 2 fl oz bottle will cost you no more than $13, with discounts available on subscriptions for multiple bottles. How do you use it?Tea Tree Oil is for external use only, and should not be ingested. Before you use tea tree oil, you should test how your skin reacts to it. First, apply a drop to your skin and monitor the results. There are a few ways you can use it:General use: Wash and pat skin dry, then apply a small amount with fingertips to your freshly cleansed and toned face, neck and décolleté area (avoid direct contact with eyes). For dry and painful areas of skin: Mix around 10 drops with melted coconut oil or moisturize of choice. As an antiseptic for small cuts and grazes: First make sure the cut is clean. Combine 1 drop with 1 teaspoon of coconut oil, apply to the scrape and cover with a bandage. Repeat this daily until a scab develops. As a mouthwash: Dilute 1 drop of tea tree oil in a warm cup of water and mix thoroughly. Gargle for 30 seconds, spit out and rinse your mouth. Do not swallow the mixture.Any Cautions?SHOULD NOT BE INGESTED - FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY.In very rare cases tea tree oil can cause contact dermatitis or irritation of the skin. It’s very important to use small amounts of tea tree oil, as large amounts can cause burning to the skin. 1 or 2 drops really is enough!Scientific References

Why is it Important to Support Your Joints?Joints facilitate the movement of bones in your body. Without them, we’d be unable to move freely due to the excruciating pain of bone rubbing on bone.Inside a joint is a layer of protective cushioning (cartilage) that covers the ends of each bone, and synovial fluid - a thick liquid in the joint. The cartilage is lubricated by the synovial fluid to reduce friction, allowing the bones to glide over each other freely and without pain.Having healthy joints will allow you to partake in any movement as small as opening your hand, to walking, running, jumping and playing sports freely and easily, without pain. What Causes Joint Pain and Deterioration?Arthritis is a condition that causes inflammation and pain in a joint. There are many different types of arthritis, with the most common being osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. There are many factors that can cause your joints to deteriorate and for a type of arthritis to develop, such as:
Age
Gender
Genetics
Poor diet
Previous injuries
Obesity
Poor posture
Medical conditions, including underactive thyroid
Lack of exercise or not warming up properly
Stress
Changes in the weather
Can You Test For Joint Deterioration?Generally, you will have symptoms in your joints such as pain, tenderness, swelling, inflammation, restricted movement, warm red skin over the affected joint (or it feels extremely cold), weakness, and muscle wasting. If you experience any of these symptoms, scans such as X-rays and MRI scans can be performed to help diagnose the problem. The Top 7 Ways to Support and Reduce Pain in Your Joints:While there are some things we cannot change, such as gender and genetics - here are the top 7 lifestyle changes you can make to help support your joint health:
Eat a clean organic diet. Processed foods have been linked to increased inflammation [1]. Being overweight or obese puts more pressure on the joints, making them more susceptible to arthritis and injury [2].
Improve your posture [3] When your posture is not balanced, it puts an excessive strain on certain joints, while others have too little weight on them. This can cause pain in certain joints as the progressive extra pressure on them wears away at the joint.
Exercise regularly, and always warm up - around 150 minutes a week is recommended [4]. Always wear underlayers to keep your joints warm, especially when it’s cold outside.
Wear supportive clothing if you need it. If you’ve had a previous injury to a joint, such as a meniscus tear (knee cartilage) be sure to wear a knee support whenever you do strenuous exercise or prolonged periods of exercise [5].
Reduce your stress. The mind is powerful, and studies have shown the link between psychological pain and joint pain [6]. There are many ways to lower your stress levels, such as meditation. You can also try supplementing with our Serenity Anti-Stress Support or 5 HTP products
Arrange a thyroid test [7] Lack of optimal thyroid function can cause a reduction in mitochondrial function, meaning less energy for all the body’s systems. It’s been theorized that this explains the strong correlation between joint pain and low thyroid conditions.
Support your joints with essential nutrients and supportive plant compounds for optimal performance:
TurmericTurmeric, or Curcuma Longa as it is scientifically called, is a spice well known for its vibrant yellow color and its use in asian cuisine. Although curcuma longa is native to tropical South Asia, around 133 species worldwide are known to exist [8].Curcuminoids are compounds that can be found in turmeric and provide it’s famous bright yellow color. The most important of curcuminoids is curcumin, which has been heavily studied for its health benefits [9], mainly due to its powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.Turmeric has been used all over the world in both cooking and medicine for over 4000 years. From inhaling the fumes of burning turmeric, to drinking its juice and applying pastes - the Ayurvedic medicinal system has been using turmeric to help heal wounds, bruises, skin conditions such as chicken pox, shingles, smallpox and acne and more since around 500 BCE.The end of the 13th century saw Marco Polo (a venetian merchant, writer and explorer) compare turmeric to saffron for its incredible qualities, color and high price.Turmeric can offer a whole host of health benefits, such as:
It is a powerful anti-inflammatory and can help with arthritic conditions and osteoporosis [10]
It is also a powerful antioxidant and can help to neutralize and block free radicals in the body [11]
Curcumin can help to improve and boost levels of BDNF proteins (Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor) [12]
Curcumin was shown to improve mood [13], focus and memory [14] in older people
Studies have found curcumin can improve heart health [15]
Two month supplementation of curcumin suggested improvements in hayfever symptoms [16]
Bioperine. A bioactive compound called piperine can be found in black pepper [17], and Bioperine is a patented piperine extract.Piperine is important, especially when used in conjunction with turmeric, because it can help to exponentially increase nutrient absorption [18]. This is important because, without adding Piperine, Turmeric is poorly absorbed.Glucosamine Sulfate. Glucosamine naturally occurs in the body and works by building cartilage, ligaments and connective tissue ,as well as lubricating and strengthening joints for freer movement [19].As such, it’s an extremely popular supplement amongst athletes who are prone to joint injuries.A trial saw glucosamine improve acute knee injuries in 106 athletes after 4 weeks [20].Ginger. A study saw significant improvements in people's osteoarthritic pain when taking ginger orally compared to a placebo [21]Chondroitin Sulfate. Another naturally occurring compound in the body that plays a crucial role in cartilage that cushions your joints (hyaline cartilage).Chondroitin sulfate can help to prevent the breakdown of cartilage in joints, while synthesizing various cartilage components [22].Boswellia Extract. Also known as frankincense or olibanum, Boswellia extract comes from Boswellia trees and has been used in traditional eastern medicines for millenia to help treat rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory problems [23].A specific extract from boswellia trees called 5-loxin was used in two clinical trials on 135 osteoarthritis patients. It seemed to significantly improve joint function and pain [24].MSM. Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is an important compound found in proteins, collagen and more.Used alone or in combination with glucosamine, MSM has been shown to help reduce symptoms of osteoarthritis [25].Quercetin. Quercetin is a pigment that is naturally found in a lot of fruits, vegetables and grains. It’s an extremely abundant antioxidant that plays a crucial role in combating free radical damage in your body. As such, it can help reduce inflammation.50 women with rheumatoid arthritis took part in an 8 week study of quercetin supplementation. They experienced reduced pain and stiffness in the morning, as well as reduced pain after an activity. Markers (such as TNFa) of inflammation were also reduced when compared to those who took the placebo [26].Methionine. Found in a lot of proteins in the body, methionine is an essential amino acid that contributes to many processes, including being a ‘building block’ for proteins and plays a crucial role in the protection of your tissues and repair of muscles after exercise [27].Bromelain. Bromelain is an anti-inflammatory enzyme found in pineapple extracts (ananas comosus).2 clinical trials showed bromelain to reduce joint stiffness, pain and swelling when used on 117 people with osteoarthritis in the knees. It was found to be just as effective as the painkilling drug diclofenac [28].Introducing Feel Younger® Turmeric Joint FormulaWe understand that it’s not always easy, nor practical to implement a variety of lifestyle changes - especially all at once. We’d advise that you make as many of the changes listed further up this page as possible, but to do so 1 or 2 at a time, make sure they stick and then move onto more.In the meantime, you can support your body with the essential nutrients and minerals it needs that can help support your joints. That’s why we’ve included the above ingredients in our Turmeric Joint Formula.By combining these ingredients into an easy to swallow capsule, we’ve taken the stress out of buying each of these ingredients separately, researching and experimenting how much of each you should take and then incorporating them into your diet/supplement regime. How do you take Feel Younger® Turmeric Joint Formula?Take 2 capsules, once a day.For optimal results, take the capsules 20-30 minutes before a meal with a glass of water.Any cautions?Although rare, some of the ingredients can cause nausea, stomach upset, abdominal pain, heartburn or skin rashes.SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN BY PREGNANT WOMEN.ALWAYS consult a healthcare professional before taking any new supplements.

What is Ginger and How Does it Work?Originally from Southeast Asia, ginger grows underground on the Zingiber officinale plant and is closely related to turmeric and cardamom, all of which belong to the same family.Classed as a spice, it has been used for over 3000 years in both cooking and medicine because of its wide range of health benefits and unique taste. It’s also been used for millennia to help treat various health issues, such as high blood pressure, nausea, arthritis, migraines, pain, colds, and to help support digestion.Ginger has many purported health benefits:
Ginger is a powerful antioxidant that can help to reduce inflammation and fight oxidative stress and unwanted microbes in the body [10]
It can help to treat various forms of nausea [11], especially morning sickness [12]
It can help with weight loss [13] by potentially reducing inflammation or increasing number of calories burned [14]
A study saw significant improvements in people's osteoarthritic pain when taking ginger orally compared to a placebo [15]
It is believed to have anti-diabetic properties and can help to reduce risk factors associated with heart problems [16]
It can also help relieve chronic indigestion by helping to empty the stomach quicker (a delay in the process is believed to contribute to indigestion) [17]
Ginger may help to reduce menstrual pain and was shown in a study to be as effective as 2 nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) [18]
Various studies have shown it can help to reduce the bad cholesterol in your body [19]
Studies on animals have suggested that the powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects of ginger can help to protect the brain against age related decline, as well as inhibiting inflammatory responses in the brain [20]
A study on middle aged women showed that ginger can also help to cognitive function [21]
Ginger can inhibit the growth of some forms of bacteria, and reduce the risk of infections [22]
BioperineA bioactive compound called piperine can be found in black pepper [23], and Bioperine is a patented piperine extract.Piperine is important, especially when used in conjunction with turmeric, because it can help to exponentially increase nutrient absorption [24]. This is important because, without adding Piperine, Turmeric is poorly absorbed. There are also other potential health benefits of piperine, such as:
Helped to boost brain function in mice by decreasing inflammation [25], improving memory and protecting the myelin sheath [26]
Test tube studies have shown piperine to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects on UV (ultraviolet) induced skin damage [27]
Another test tube study showed piperine can help to prevent high blood sugar levels [28]

Why is it Important to Support Your Urinary Tract and Bladder? The urinary tract is extremely important to the body and it’s primarily responsible for filtering out waste products and flushing them out of the body.Your kidneys start this process by filtering your blood to remove excess fluids, waste products and anything toxic your body wants to be rid of. The kidneys produce urine to flush these waste products out of the body.Urine then passes down a tube (ureters) from the kidneys to the bladder. Once your bladder gets full, your brain sends a signal to let you know that it’s time to pee.Although the process is unconscious up until this part, we can consciously control when to urinate or not. When we’re ready, we relax the sphincter at the top of the urethra (the tube that is connected to the bottom of the bladder) and the urine will start to flow out of our bodies. When your urinary tract becomes infected you may experience some of the symptoms and problems listed below:
Pain or burning when urinating (dysuria)
Frequent urge to urinate (can occur at night)
Sudden urge to pee (more than usual)
Cloudy dark or strong smelling urine
Blood in your urine
Lower stomach or back pain (under the ribs)
Low temperature
If the infection manages to reach the kidneys, the following symptoms may occur:
Discomfort and pain in your sides, lower back and near/around genitals
High temperature, chills or shivering
Weakness or fatigue
Loss of appetite
Diarrhea
Nausea or vomiting
If you experience any of the symptoms listed above, it’s best to speak to your physician to determine the best cause of action. Our product should only be used in conjunction with medical treatment, or where a medical professional states they are unable to help, as is sometimes the case in cases of chronic cystitis. What causes UTIs to develop?Urinary tract infections most commonly occur when E. coli (bacteria found in the digestive tract) enter the urethra opening. The reason why women experience UTIs more commonly than men is because their urethra is shorter, and also closer to the anus where E. coli can be found. It’s especially important to treat UTIs quickly and effectively to stop bacteria ascending up your urinary tract. If the bacteria reaches your bladder, cystitis can occur (inflammation of the bladder). If the bacteria continues to ascend the urinary tract, it can reach the kidneys and cause further infection (pyelonephritis) which if left untreated, can cause long lasting damage to the kidneys and also carries a risk of contracting sepsis (blood poisoning) which can be fatal. Can you test for UTIs?If you think you have a UTI, it’s best to speak to your physician who can arrange for a urine test to be carried out.UTIs can be discovered by taking a urine test, where your urine sample will be analyzed under a microscope to check for signs of infection (white blood cells and bacteria).Blood tests can also be used, as well as a CT scan, ultrasound, cystography and other imaging tests to determine if there is any infection further up the urinary tract in the bladder or kidneys. The Top 10 Ways to support the health of your urinary tract:There are many lifestyle changes you can make to support the health of your urinary tract, including your bladder and kidneys to decrease the chances of developing an infection:
Eat a nutrient dense, varied organic diet. While what you eat and drink aren’t necessarily considered to be risk factors [1] in the development of UTIs, certain foods, such as yogurt, contain healthy bacteria that help to prevent and fight infection.
Boost your immune system. A compromised immune system is associated with higher chances of contracting a UTI. There are many ways to boost your immune system such as the point above (good diet), regular exercise (150 mins a week at least), stopping smoking, maintaining a healthy weight, drinking alcohol in moderation, getting enough sleep and reducing stress. If sleep is something you struggle with, you can try supplementing with our Sleep Aid Ultra, 5 HTP or Saffron products. If stress is something you struggle with, there are many things you can do to help such as meditation and breathing exercises. You can also try supplementing with our Serenity Anti-Stress Support, 5 HTP, Saffron or Ashwagandha products.
Don’t hold your pee! Holding urine in for too long can increase the chance of developing a UTI [2]. It can also overstretch the bladder muscles, causing them to slacken which can lead to inability to empty your bladder fully (urinary retention or incontinence).
Clean your genitals before and after sex. Making sure you and your partner are clean before you go at it will lessen the chance of any unwanted bacteria entering your urethra. Maintaining good rectal hygiene (especially in women) may help lower the chance of developing a UTI.Using condoms will decrease this chance even further.
Urinate immediately after sex, and drink plenty of water. Peeing straight after sex may help flush any unwanted bacteria out of the urinary tract.12-15 cups of water daily should ensure proper flow to help flush bacteria out of the urinary tract.
Do Kegel exercises. Kegel exercises target the pelvic floor. They are particularly important to strengthen muscles around the bladder to keep any unwanted spills at bay.
The strengthening of these muscles can also help to avoid unwanted infections getting through to the bladder.
Wipe front to back. Wiping from back to front will increase the chances of bacteria from your anus entering your urethra and causing a UTI.
Stop using a diaphragm. Diaphragms can harbor bacteria such as E. coli, as well as promoting their growth [3]. This is especially worse for women who are already prone to UTIs. Consider changing to a different form of contraception.
Stop using scented soaps. Using scented soaps can irritate vaginal tissues and can alter the vaginal microbiome, making you more susceptible to UTIs. This also stands true for bubble baths, cleansing sprays and so forth.
Support your urinary tract with vital minerals and nutrients to decrease the risk of developing UTIs, while supporting your bladder:
D-mannose. A type of sugar that is found in fruits and vegetables such as oranges, broccoli, apples, green beans, peaches - D-mannose can help to treat and prevent UTIs by preventing infectious bacteria, such as E. coli, from being able to clasp onto cells and cause infection in the urinary tract. There have been many studies on the efficacy of D-mannose. One such study on women with active UTIs found that symptoms for most women improved [4].Another study saw the comparison of D-mannose and antibiotics in treating and preventing UTIs. It found that the mean recurrence time was 52.7 days with antibiotic treatments, compared to 200 days with oral D-mannose [5].Cranberry juice powder. Cranberries are a great source of D-mannose, and have been used for hundreds of years as an effective treatment for UTIs.Hibiscus flower extract. Scientifically known as hibiscus sabdariffa linn, or more commonly known as roselle - hibiscus flower has been used traditionally as an anti-inflammatory agent. Renal (of the kidneys) inflammation can be a key event in UTIs.A study on the effect of a roselle drink preventing UTIs and renal inflammation in long-term care facilities saw roselle drinks to be effective [6].Dandelion herb extract. Scientifically known as taraxacum officinale folium - Dandelion may have antimicrobial properties that can help your immune system fight off infection [7].It also has a diuretic (increased passing of urine) effect on the human body helping you to flush out unwanted bacteria [8].Introducing Feel Younger® Urinary Bladder Support Formula with 1000mg D Mannose + CranberryWe understand that it’s not always easy, nor practical to implement a variety of lifestyle changes - especially all at once.
We’d advise that you make as many of the changes listed further up this page as possible, but to do so 1 or 2 at a time, make sure they stick and then move onto more.In the meantime, you can support your body with the essential nutrients and minerals it needs that can help support and prevent your urinary tract from infections. That’s why we’ve included the above ingredients in our Urinary Bladder Support Formula.By combining these ingredients into an easy to swallow capsule, we’ve taken the stress out of buying each of these ingredients separately, researching and experimenting how much of each you should take and then incorporating them into your diet/supplement regime. Here at Feel younger®, we believe in providing strong doses at reasonable prices. Our Urinary Bladder Support Formula with 1000mg D Mannose + Cranberry capsules are antibiotic free, gluten free, vegan and vegetarian friendly, corn free, hormone free, lactose free and contain no nasty fillers or binders. How Do You Take Feel Younger® Urinary Bladder Support Formula with 1000mg D Mannose + Cranberry?Take two capsules once a day with a glass of water, preferably 20-30 minutes before a meal.Any Cautions?Although rare, some people may experience loose stools or diarrhea.Because of the lack of studies on hibiscus flower and pregnancy, pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid this product.ALWAYS consult a healthcare professional before taking any new supplements, especially if you have high blood pressure or diabetes in this case (due to hibiscus content and dandelion). If you are taking antibiotics, anticoagulants, blood sugar drugs, any prescription medications or have diabetes, consult your physician before taking this product.

What is Vitamin D3?Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin that our body requires in order to absorb calcium in the gut, as well as regulating calcium and phosphorus for bone mineralization [1].Vitamin D is also incredibly important in the regulation of mood, prevention of cardiovascular problems and improving heart health, lowering pro-inflammatory and increasing anti-inflammatory components of the immune system, supporting weight loss, supporting bone health and more. There are two main types of vitamin D - D2 and D3. D2 can be found naturally in some plants, whereas D3 is naturally formed in animals when their skin is exposed to sunlight. The difference being that D3 is roughly 87% more potent at increasing blood vitamin D levels and maintaining concentrations. D3 also provides 2-3 times more storage of vitamin D in the body’s cells than D2.For example, a study on older women found that a single dose of vitamin D3 was almost twice more effective than vitamin D2 at increasing calcifediol levels [2].Vitamin D3 is indeed synthesized in your skin too when directly exposed to the sun's UV rays [3], specifically the ultraviolet B rays that are responsible for sunburn. When the UVB rays interact with a protein in your skin called 7-DHC (7-Dehydrocholesterol), it is converted into the active form of vitamin D (D3) that is then absorbed into your body [4].While the sun is an extremely important source, most people do not get enough sun on their bare skin throughout the year, so you should also acquire vitamin D3 from foods, such as fatty fish (such as mackerel, sardines, salmon and tuna), cod liver oil, egg yolks, but this is also often difficult, which is why many people prefer to supplement Vitamin D3 [5].What causes Vitamin D deficiency?A variety of factors can lead to vitamin D deficiency - the main being simply not getting enough sunlight. Here are some of the reasons you may not be getting enough vitamin D:
Not exposing enough of your body for long enough (15 minutes in the sun wearing nothing but underwear will provide enough vitamin D for the day)
Sitting in the shade - it’s important to understand that your exposed skin needs to be in direct sunlight
Using sunscreen which blocks the UVB rays needed to synthesize vitamin D
Living in areas where the sun is blocked, like cities with tall buildings
Living in countries where there isn’t much sun, or working night shifts so you don’t see much sun
Winter in most countries (when the sun isn’t as strong/doesn’t appear often)
Having darker skin (the darker your skin, the less able you are to absorb vitamin D due to the higher melanin content)
If you’re deficient in vitamin D, a variety of problems can occur such as:
Rickets (children) or Osteomalacia (adults) - distortion and softening of the bones [6]
Low mood [7]
Increased risk of cardiovascular problems [8]
Increase risk of bone fractures and breaks from falls [9]
Tiredness, pains and aches
Can you test your levels of Vitamin D?If you suspect you have low vitamin D levels, or simply want to find out what your levels are - your doctor can perform a simple blood test. You can also order this test for yourself privately in most locations, we recommend this as it’s very important to have the optimals levels of Vitamin D3, not too little, not too much.If you are found to be deficient, your doctor may also want to perform x-rays to check the strength of your bones. What is Vitamin K2?Vitamin K is another fat soluble vitamin that is essential for the metabolism of calcium, blood clotting, heart health, bone health and many other functions in our bodies [10].The two types of vitamin K are K1 and K2. K1 is a plant form and can be found in some green vegetables, whereas K2 can be found in fermented and animal foods. Vitamin K2’s long side chain allows it to remain in the blood and circulate for longer, making K2 the best form of vitamin K. Where K1 might stay in the blood for several hours, K2 can remain in circulation for days [11].It’s vital that you take vitamin K2 when taking larger doses of vitamin D, but more on this later. Why you should always take Vitamin K2 alongside D3…It’s absolutely essential to take vitamin K2 alongside vitamin D3 for a couple of reasons. The main reason is that it's much safer to take higher doses of D3 with K2, because too much D3 by itself will pull calcium out of your bones, leading to lower bone density. Excessive vitamin D3, without K2, may also lead to calcium being deposited in your arteries, causing hardening of the arteries (vascular calcification).Vitamin K2 works to put calcium back into your bones [12], as well as helping to keep your arteries clear. A balanced formula with both allows you to reap the anti-inflammatory, immune supporting and other benefits of vitamin D3, while minimizing bone calcium loss and the potential for cardiovascular problems. Why Try Feel Younger® Vitamin D3 5000iu + Vitamin K2 1000iu MK7?Our vitamin D3 5000iu + vitamin K2 1000iu MK7 capsules are antibiotic free, gluten free, sugar free, hormone free, lactose free and contain no nasty binders. We use a type of K2 called MK-7 which is a step up from the normal K2 you’ll find in many other K2 supplements. MK-7 has higher efficacy due to its higher bioavailability and longer half-life than other versions of vitamin K2 [13].We’ve also included Bioperine (a patented black pepper extract) in our vitamin D3 with K2 formula because of its ability to increase nutrient absorption [14].Bioperine in itself also possess potential health benefits, such as boosting brain function by decreasing inflammation [15], improving memory and protecting the myelin sheath [16], anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects on UV (ultraviolet) induced skin damage [17] and preventing high blood sugar levels [18].This means when you take our vitamin D3 with K2 capsules, you know that you’re getting the highest quality, best forms of vitamin D and vitamin K that are the most bioavailable (available for your body to use) and last the longest in your body (longer half-life) and are going to be absorbed exponentially better than other D3 with K2 products due to our Bioperine content. How do you take it?Take one capsule a day, preferably with some kind of dietary fat to help better absorb the vitamins.Any cautions?Although vitamin D is tolerable in high doses, (10,000 iu & upwards) it’s important to bear your sun time in mind.If you’ve spent hours in strong sunshine, supplementation may not be beneficial (in rare cases, excessive vitamin D can cause nausea, vomiting, dehydration, confusion and abdominal pain).Vitamin K is generally considered to be well tolerated and safe but in rare cases, people may experience minor digestive effects.

Why is it important to Support Your Body Throughout your Menstrual Cycle? As you know, PreMenstrual Syndrome (PMS) can change your body in a variety of different ways, and can wreak havoc on your everyday quality of life.Your body is high in estrogen and progesterone during the first 20 (ish) days of your cycle, as your body prepares for potential pregnancy. Because of the high levels of these hormones, you may feel more confident and in a better mood. But, just over mid-way through the cycle, if pregnancy hasn’t occurred, your body decreases estrogen and progesterone levels in preparation to shed the uterine lining. It is this drop in hormonal levels that many doctors believe to be the root cause of PMS, however this has never been fully scientifically confirmed. There’s also a change in the brain that occurs. Lower estrogen levels can cause norepinephrine (stress neurochemical) to be released, leading to serotonin (relaxation neurochemical) and dopamine (motivation & reward neurochemical) to be produced less, which results in sleeping problems and low mood.We also believe that subsequently lowered endorphins, endocannabinoids and oxytocin further reduce mood and increase pain and discomfort, but further studies need to be done to prove this.PMS commonly begins around day 22-24 of the menstrual cycle. Not everyone experiences all the symptoms of PMS, and the intensity of the symptoms experienced can vary. The symptoms of PMS can include:
Mood swings, upset, anxiety and/or irritableness
Stomach pain and/or bloating
Tender breasts
Headaches
Acne/greasy/spotty skin
Greasy hair
Change in appetite
Change in libido
Overly tired, or trouble sleeping
Some women experience these symptoms particularly badly, leading to a condition called premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), which is a more severe version of PMS.Addressing as many of these symptoms as possible can lead to a better quality of life in the weeks leading up to and during menstruation, as well as increasing your confidence knowing that your life won’t be affected as much by something that was once out of your control. What can intensify PMS?There are many things that can actually worsen PMS symptoms, so it’s best to reduce or if possible eliminate:
Caffeine
Smoking
Alcohol consumption
Not exercising regularly
Poor sleep, or not enough of it
Poor diet.
Although these factors will make PMS worse when done at any time, they can especially make things worse while you are suffering from the symptoms. Can you test for PMS?The most common symptoms of PMS are:
Mood swings, upset, anxiety and/or irritableness
Stomach pain and/or bloating
Tender bosoms
Headaches
Acne/greasy/spotty skin
Greasy hair
Change in appetite
Change in libido
Overly tired, or trouble sleeping
If you experience any of these symptoms, it’s best to make all the lifestyle changes in the section below, and give them time to see if they help your situation. If none of these changes help in the long run, consult your physician. The Top 7 Ways to Improve Your PMS SymptomsRegardless of how intense your PMS symptoms are, there are plenty of things you can do to help lessen the effects of the symptoms:
Eat a clean, nutrient dense organic diet. Good diet will provide your body with the nutrients and minerals it needs to maintain homeostasis and better deal with the hormonal imbalance you experience during PMS [1].On the flip side, eating foods high in salt can lead to increased bloating and water retention. Excess sugar leads to inflammation and increased cramping. Foods high in saturated fats and trans-fatty acids can also intensify PMS symptoms.
Stop Drinking (excess) Caffeine. Drinking too much caffeine can increase stress, anxiety and irritableness [2]. This is because caffeine stimulates the “fight or flight” response, putting your body into high alert predator mode, worried that something is around the corner!
Quit Smoking. We all know that smoking isn’t a healthy habit… but did you know that it can actually affect your estrogen and progesterone levels, enhancing the debilitating effects of PMS? [3]
Alcohol consumption. Drinking alcohol can interfere with women’s hormones, resulting in higher blood estrogen levels causing mood swings and irritability.
A sedentary lifestyle. If you’re not exercising enough (a minimum of 150 minutes a week is recommended) you’re not making use of the natural PMS-busting feelings you’ll get from being active [4].
When you’re physically active, you’ll experience improved mood, circulation and blood flow, while also helping to regulate your hormone levels.
Poor sleep, or not enough of it. When you’re sleep deprived, or have poor quality sleep, you’re more susceptible to stress [5], and your overall stress levels will be higher. This increase in stress knocks your body's hormones out of balance (fight or flight again). As if more stress wasn’t bad enough, sleep deprivation (or poor quality sleep) also impacts your emotions, appetite and mental clarity. If sleep is something you struggle with, you can try supplementing with our Sleep Aid Ultra product. If stress is something you struggle with, you can try supplementing with our Serenity Anti-Stress Support, 5 HTP and Saffron products - 5 HTP and Saffron can also help with sleep).
Provide your body with the nutrients and minerals it needs to better cope with PMS symptoms:
B Vitamins 1, 3, 5, 6 & 12. B vitamins play a crucial role in your body to create ATP (adenosine triphosphate) - which carries energy from the food you eat to the cells in your body [6]. Ensuring you have sufficient levels of B vitamins in your body can help to boost your energy.Zinc. An extremely important mineral that plays a part in hundreds of functions and processes in your body. In particular, zinc can help to treat acne outbreaks that may occur as a PMS symptom, by helping to reduce inflammation [7].L-arginine. Nitric oxide plays a crucial role in your body's response to insulin, and L-arginine is needed to produce nitric oxide. By increasing nitric oxide you can help your body manage and use blood sugar more effectively [8]. This can potentially cut sugar cravings when you’re experiencing PMS symptoms.L-tyrosine. Can help boost your mood, because it is an important component for the production of dopamine (a “feel-good” hormone).Studies have also shown that l-tyrosine can help you better manage in stressful situations [9], potentially reducing irritability.Bioperine. A patented formula of piperine (an extract from black pepper) that can help the body to better absorb nutrients. It can also help to reduce inflammation (think acne, stomach cramps and bloating) [10], while also promoting glucose uptake in cells, again helping to reduce sugar cravings [11].Tribulus Terrestris. Can help to boost your libido [12], improve mood [13] and combat inflammation [14].Dong Quai. Also known as angelica root, this herb has been used in traditional chinese medicine for centuries to help treat symptoms of PMS. It can help relieve hot flashes and night sweats you might experience during PMS [15], as well as having a relaxing effect, helping to soothe anxiety and irritableness [16].Damiana. Found in Central America, the West Indies and Mexico - this wild shrub has been used traditionally to help treat stomach complaints and to help boost libido.Panax Ginseng. Animal studies have shown that panax ginseng can help raise energy production in cells, which can help to resolve fatigue [17].Ashwagandha. Classed as an adaptogen (helps the body deal with stress), and has been used traditionally for centuries to help reduce stress and anxiety [18]. It can also help to improve sleep [19].Introducing Feel Younger® Women’s Hormonal Enhancement FormulaWe understand that it’s not always easy, nor practical to implement a variety of lifestyle changes - especially all at once. We’d advise that you make as many of those changes as possible, but do so 1 or 2 at a time, make sure they stick and then move onto more. It’s also important to give these changes time to show if they are effective or not… For example - quitting smoking the day before you’re due to experience PMS symptoms is unlikely to have a profound effect. In the meantime, you can support your body with the essential nutrients and minerals it needs that can help you cope more easily with your PMS.That’s why we’ve included the above ingredients in our Women’s Hormonal Enhancement Formula, along with the following ingredients to further enhance the effects of our formula:Epimedium, Catuaba Powder, Ginkgo Biloba, Ginger, Maca Root, Muira Puama, Mucuna Pruriens Extract, Asparagus Extract & Sarsaparilla Root.By combining these ingredients together into an easy to swallow capsule, we’ve taken the stress out of buying each of these ingredients separately, researching and experimenting how much of each you should take and then incorporating them into your diet/supplement regime. How Do You Take Feel Younger® Women’s Hormonal Enhancement Formula?Take two capsules once a day.For optimum results, we recommend that you take this product for no less than 8 weeks. It’s also best to exercise regularly, and eat as clean and nutrient dense a diet as possible to further enhance the results.DO NOT EXCEED RECOMMENDED DOSAGE.Any Cautions? This product is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. If this is you, consult your physician before use.Although rare, some ingredients can cause headaches, irritability, nausea, stomach upset and pain, insomnia, drowsiness, rashes or allergic reactions. If you have diabetes or are on medications such as blood thinners, antidepressants or ibuprofen/naproxen, or any such medications for pain, anxiety and insomnia, you should contact your physician before taking this product.ALWAYS consult a healthcare professional before taking any new supplements.
